mainly for purposes of archiving...is there any way we could get the journals to display all entries with comments? i back up to a text file every few days in case disaster strikes...but i would lose some of the conversation. ideas?

Yes, it's been suggested several times.
Upgrades to the journals require programming time that we are devoting to other priorities.
