NSFW Avatars
Ok, I know this is going to sound a bit off the wall, but I was wondering if it would it be possible to add something to the user cp that would 1.) Allow members to designate their avatars as NSFW and 2.) allow members to designate if they want to see (or not see) NSFW avatars? I realize the whole idea hinges on the members with nudie avatars to go into their profile and manage the setting. I think it would be nice for those of us who like to use TPF at work to be able to see 'safe' avatars and have the pornographic ones filtered.
Eh, maybe I'm asking too much, but you can't get shot down if you never leave the tarmack. |
It sounds like a good idea to me, but I don't pull much (any) weight around here.

It does sound like a nice idea.
I browse from home, but also class, library, etc, so I have turned off avatars and also signatures, just to avoid potential akward moments. Good suggestion, I am not if it's doable or not.. But it's worth a shot. :) |
It has been brought up:
Xplicit Avatars NSFW threads and Avatars... PG TFP And the suggestion is always to turn off your "Show avatars" in User CP - Edit Options - Show user's avatar in their posts? - No Just turn them all off when you are work. |
Sure, then I have to turn them off at work, turn them on at home, turn them off at work... or leave them off altogether and never get to see anyone's avatars. It's just a suggestion, if the management doesn't like it they can just say it's never gonna happen.

Its up to the user as to what avatar they want to use. We have not the time, nor resources to go through each persons avatar to label SFW, or NSFW. If a labeling technique WAS introduced, it would be up the user to label correctly. And based on human action, many would not be labeled correctly due to direct defiance of the rule, forgeting the rule, or just not paying attention. -Hope that helps you out |
