"Edit" button on all posts?
Why is there an "edit" button on every post in a thread? I keep hitting that instead of the "quote" button when I'm replying (stupid, I know, but it keeps happening).
If possible and easy, it would be nice if "edit" only showed up on the posts of the person who is logged in. |

the reason is more for my benefit than yours.
moderators have the option of editing/deleting individual posts when necessary. that option is there for our benefit. whether or not that option can be masked for all but the original poster and the moderators is something oldtimer could say more about than me.

Good reminder, Phred.
And while we're at it why don't we hide the "IP: Logged" link as well? I think this can be arranged... Ooh it's gonna take a little work though... Advanced Templates: Dynamic Templates Changing according to different conditions You could also hide the "new thread" & "add reply" buttons to guests with this hack too.

Thanks oldtimer, don't work too hard at it, 'cause it isn't THAT important. And Phred, thanks for the explaination of why it is there in the first place, I hadn't thought of it.
