Not a suggestion, but a feature I really like....
Just thought I'd give a little appreciation for the easy reply field at the bottom of the page. None of the other forums I frequent have that feature at the bottom, and it makes replying a whole lot more work. Probably helps to eliminate the number of accidental postings of replys as new threads too, not that I've done that or anything ;) ;) Anyway, thanks for the forum guys, and keep up the good work.

you're quite welcome, but point that love at halx... as far as the software goes, it's his baby and he makes it the nifty place it is.

*nods* very true, i am using that handy dandy little box right now. Yay.

The only problem I find with it is when I type a reply. get to the part where I need to insert an image link or something, then find I need some of the controls - disable smilies or add a smilie etc. Then, I need to copy and paste it into the add reply section. However, I've often got the URL I want to use in the clipboard, so I need to paste it, then copy and paste, then edit, if you see what I mean...
Thus, would it be possible to modify the "add reply" button so that it brought across anything that was already written in the text box at the bottom? Then if you hit a problem/want smilies/need vbcode boxes etc, you can hit the "add reply" and carry on writing. |
But if you really wanted smily couldn't just type it in with the ": :" things around it? There are only a couple smiley's I ever use so I don't imagine it would be too hard to memorize the codes for these. As for images, I don't know if you are talking about hosting your own images here on TFP, but I always host my own and just link to them using the IMG tags...

I've seen the reset form button (does anyone use that?) replaced with "Go Advanced" on some forums, I'll mention it to Hal and see if it would be difficult to switch it over.

Sounds like a good idea, an no, I've never used the reset form button!

so yea. go go go advanced! w00t. :) [edit] it's not just a matter of having the smiley codes memorised or whatever...for me it's more about formatting, either i want to fancify that... ..plus i'm real keen on the preview button, to make sure i've got things spaced how i want them etc. [/edit] [edit again] when editing a post, would be cool to be able to preview it as an option.
