ladies lounge only accesible by ladies
Now, ok, I'm a bloke, but I admit to having gone into the ladies lounge sometimes. I've then felt a bit guilty about prying into somewhere that should be a personal space for them.
Thus, would it be possible to have the ladies lounge restricted to only those users who specify in their profile that they are a lady? |
Going in and reading threads is not a problem as most of the woman would be glad to tell you.
Posting is a different matter, the lady mods throw knives. So read to your hearts content, just don't post. |

Fair enough - it was worth asking!
The arguments to the contrary seem sensible enough. |
Agree with juanvaldes here.. No way to verify the gender of anyone here anyways.
I'm pretty sure they don't mind others looking on. |
Dude, read the ladies' section, you'll learn good stuff. Maybe you'll even figure out how a lady thinks, and you'll get laid. :)
|
I like to read LL for a different perspective. It might help with my "Women Psychology" class I'm taking in a few semesters. :)
Posting? Nope. Wouldn't do it in a million years. I like my scrotum attached. |

Maybe having a Ladies section withonly ladies allowed, But then i want a Guys only section :P
|
um... you're just randomly replying to stuff arent you? :)
come on.. admit it! |
along the same lines, is it possible to get some big WARNING message or something if you're a guy and you try to post on the ladies' lounge? i accidentally replied to a post the other day without even thinking (nowdays, tilted sexuality and ladies' lounge covers a lot of the same ground, and if i do a search for all new posts, it's hard to remember which forum the thread is from).
i hate having that message up for all the woman to see: "Oops! i forgot i have a penis!" (lurkette--consider changing that tag to: "Whoops ladies, it seems i dropped my towel. What's that you ask?") |

Isn't that difficult, seems others manage it fine. And if you *really* feel the desire to say something in there, PM one of us lady mods, we'd be happy to post for you. |
Short of forcing all members to scan their ID and show it to the admins as proof of sex and then code some hack to let those proven to be female post and look and those proven to be male only look, no, the system will have to remain as it is. In other words, just pay attention ;)
|
not asking for proof of gender just a warning of some sort, big pink letters saying "THIS IS THE LADIES FORUM--WOMEN ONLY" right after you hit "quote" or at the bottom of a thread before the textbox for your reply. so that it still works by the honor system, but you have that little reminder in the same part of the screen as where you start typing (as opposed to having to scroll up to the top to see if you're in ladies' forum or not).
it may simply be a function of the way i use tfp--instead of going to each forum individually, i click 'get new posts' and get a jumble of forums all at once. that's what's making it hard for me to keep track (and mind you, this is only the 1st or 2nd time i've done it, so it's not really THAT big a deal for me...) |
I use the 'View new posts' thing constantly.
And I always notise which forum a thread is in. (I assume it's the same with all stylesets? Using default, and it's really not that difficult to observe..) |
no offense sin, but as a moderator, you have to be pretty attentive to what forum you're in, to check for content--us common users are slightly less attentive to such details--or at least me.
ok, maybe i'm just not paying attention enough. never mind. |
Thanks. :)
I've always been so attentive. It just happens. I really believe most people are capable of it. :) |
If you do accidentally post and notice it right away, click the "report this post to a moderator" button or talk to one of us in chat to let us know.
