Tilted Philosophy
What do you think about a Tilted Philosophy forum?
It seems like some people try to get good philosophical debates going, but they tend to get lost in the general discussion board. I think it would be nice to have a place where you could have debates on philosophy, and not have them mixed in with discussions about contact lenses and gray hair (I'm not singling those two out, they're just the first two that i saw when i looked at the page). I'm not saying that threads about gray hair and contacts are any less important. They are important, and that kind of thread is a big part of what makes this board a community. I'm not trying to be elitist or say that all the discussions here should be deep and thought provoking. I'm just wondering if maybe those kinds of discussions deserve their own area instead of being thrown into general discussion.

well, philosophy IS discussion. And it can be pretty general at that too. We had discussions on whether a philosophy section would work, but we decided against it. Philosophy isn't everyone's game, and (like another forum that isn't here right now) might not get much activity.
It is in everyones best interest to keep it in general discussion, because it it there that the most open minds will go, the most closed minds will go, and the most amount of discussion will occur. And we all know how much there is to say about philosophy. There is A LOT to say, discuss, tell, ponder, etc.
