Threaded Viewing?

The current layout of the boards is what i would describe as a Topic view...

The trouble with these topics is that they become sidetracked and split into essentially different threads, well, on the discussion boards, not the titty boards.

Threaded Message Board

I'm sure you could see how much 'better' threaded views are for discussions form that link...

Any chance of having that as an option/default?

At least for the discussion areas, it'd be great.

What does all t'others think?

I think that's very close to what I'm seeing now. Play around with the options and you'll find one that suits you.

As an example, you see what I'm getting at?

I've looked through the settings again and maybe I'm just dull but that I'm not seeing an option for anything like this.

The only way I see discussion are ALL replying posts sequencialy underneath each original post/topic. No branching.

Get me now?

I agree with cheers. Not only that, but some of these threads have 100 or more replies. That just wouldn't work well with that sort of setup.

I've always been of the opinion that that style message board is rediculously hideous and unreadable.

End of story.

Fair enough.

Your opinion, thou art admin.

I bow to thee, oh Lord.

I can't stand threaded message boards. They are always very confusing to read, and they never have a natural conversational flow to them.

If you do wish to respond directly to a post which appeared earlier on in the thread, then use the quote. If the discusiion gets sidetracked...who cares!? All normal conversation goes like this...one point leads on to another. If worse comes to worst you can always start a new thread.

Amen. I've dropped notes at some boards suggesting they go with the kind like vBulletin and they just don't get it. It all comes down to neat, clean, easy-to-follow threads. And who has the time for all that damn clicking? See a subject, click once, start reading. If a thread gets off-subject then let an admin move it to a new thread.
