TFP "Pay It Forward"
Starkizzer and I are trying to get rid of some stuff around our place and I had an idea: a TFP "Pay It Forward" thread.
The idea being that someone gives something away, as-is of course, under the assumption that the recipient then gives something away to someone else. Shipping would be paid by the person doing the giving, thus no money would be exchanged. For the purposes of keeping the thread going, I would suggest that the person accepting an item be required to offer an item at the same time, or shortly thereafter. Also, I would limit participation to established members, so I think Member's playground would be a good place for this thread. If this is approved, I have an item which I can use to get the thread started.

Why not just start the thread and see how it rolls?

Due to logistics and possible complications we were asked to give it a day or two for the mods to discuss first.

I guess it would be whatever the giver was willing to ship.
I would hope we wouldn't HAVE to make rules like "no used underwear" or "no sex toys", but who knows I have a feeling it would be things like books, small to mid-sized electronics, old game systems, etc. Of course it would have to be something that is legal to ship. No, "who wants this case of old keystone light" BS.

Starkizzer has it right. Anything that can be shipped should be fair game, except certain obvious exceptions. It doesn't really make much sense for non-durable goods to be shipped around, but unwanted books, movies, games, etc are all good candidates.
This is just meant to be a good way for unwanted items to find good homes rather than to sit in a landfill for the next century.

But I might want a case of old Keystone Light. If nothing else it would confuse the shit out of Mexican custom officials.
