Donator in Profile?

How about adding a "Donated" line in members Profile, and

maybe even keeping the amount updated.

Then we could see who is actually supporting TFP.

Or is it not "Politically Correct"?

Once a person donates to the TFP they get a little Donor tag under their name.

Or under their avatar on the left hand side of all the posts, if they have an avatar.

I am aware of that feature; having donated before, but what
about, again, having it in your profile?

Just tell me its a bad idea. I personally think that many people
would be checking out the profiles, more than usual, just to see
how much so-and-so donated. Or how little. I just thought it
might generate more money, you never know.

Then again, maybe the concept is to "gossipy".

I think that showing the amount that someone has donated is a bad idea, but I like the fact that you asked. The reason that I think it is a bad idea is this:

Two registered users of TFP. One person has a spectacular job and can afford $100 within a one month period, and the other has a 'normal' job and can only spare $25 in a month. When someone goes and sees PRSN_A's total, then sees PRSN_B's total, they will think that A is doing more to support than B. We don't know your situation or anything about you, just the fact that you only sent us $25. Maybe you skipped a few meals to afford that $25.

My point is, (*since I know that I'm rambling on here*), what might look like a lot of money might be nothing to someone else, and what looks like a small amount to others could be tremendous that person.

(* Does anyone understand what I am trying to say here? *)

It's the My Fair Lady approach (if anyone has seen the movie). It has to do with a percentage of worth. 25 dollars is a small percent to someone who makes 100K per year, but it is a much larger percent to someone who only makes 7K a year.

Yeah, I understand. And I totally agree. Guess that's why you
get the big bucks.

I think a little Donated tag would do fine. The amount donated isn't necessary. Apparently, there's already some form of Donor tag, but I haven't seen it yet. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place!

So is it now 250 posts to get an avater??? I like participating by Often I find myself just echoing someone else, or wanting to make a rude comment to some idiot's lamebrain post. In both cases I restrain and don't post... Anyway I need to get off my butt and donote..

Hows this?? 100 posts and a reasonable donation to get an avater??? Hal...are you there???
