musicians forum
With the ever increasing popularity of music produced, recorded, mastered, and mixed on computers i think it would be a Great adition to TFP to have a musicians forum. Now I realize that we already have a music fourm but the threads in thire tend to be "have you heard the new LP album" or "what songs make you cry".
What I invision the musicians fourm becoming is more of a place were we could swap techniuqes for recording, editing, asking questions on programms. Such as " how do you get the beat splicer in Reason 2.0 to work?" or "What is a realy good way to figure out a songs BPM". we already have fourms for many art forms; Photography, Artwork, photochopping, literature, even cooking. As a elctronica producer i see this as being a wonderfull addition to the TFP, Not only would it further the community but it would also serve to broaden members horizions possably helping members who have no clue how to strat making music and expressing themselves through music. The way i see it that is the main objective of TFP to help its members better understand and express themselves. thank you for your time Cheese (aka Feick hardcore producer) Last edited by cheese; 06-09-2003 at 05:39 AM.. |

Since the last time I told someone to post what they wanted to talk about in a forum it turned into a miscommunication, I'd best make this clear.
The Music Forum can be all the things you just described. Just start threads on the subjects (one or two at first) you just described and see what the response is. You want to discuss mixing or producing, just start a thread about it. I know there are a lot of musicians on the board and I'm sure the producers would love to jump in as well. The forum is there, go forth and do well. |

i'd love it if there were a musicians forum. might make it easier to get threads about music playing/performance, song writing, all that kinda stuff started and going. i think they sometimes get lost in the crowd of "do you like this band" and "fav. song" threads.

I agree. Music as a forum title is too vague, and by the sounds of things there are a bunch of us musicians here who wouldn't mind a place for ideas, opinions, etc, just based on being a musician. I myself wouldn't mind a separate forum... might lead to more musician oriented discussion than are currently in the music forum.

Seperate forums are created as needed. Right now there is nothing concrete to look to to see a need. Take Tilted Philosophy and Tilted Politics for example - they were cerated off of General Discussion because a large number of threads in there had to do with politics and philosophy. Likewise, start threads and participate in threads concerning the things which you'd like to see discussed, and if/when it picks up, perhaps a seperate forum is in order. Until then we have nothing to work off of.

i would support a musician's forum. i posted something once on the old board and got, like, two responses, even though there are probably a lot more musicians on this board. if it happens, great.... if not, no worries.

While I am a musician and wouldn't mind it, perhaps we musicians need to first demonstrate the need.
Let's take over the Tilted Music forum

I would love this....as a place also where musicians can discuss techniques, post their work, etc...right now Tilted Artwork isnt the best place for music, I dont think...it is more geared towards visual art..and tilted music, while very interesting, isnt relally geared toward the process of creating music....
I think this would be awesome...

Like I've already mentioned - forums are created based on a tangible need. Create a tangible need and you may see a forum for it in the future. As of now, however, there has been little change. There is a Tilted Music forum and, for now, that's where threads of this nature should be posted. If enough of these types of threads start being posted and participated in, then perhaps then you can bring up the idea of a Tilted Musicians forum. You want a FORUM dedicated to people who create music and the processes they follow, then you need to show us plenty of THREADS on the topic first.
