Go Ducks!

Way to go Stumpy! I hope you drink from the cup!
I have to root for any team that Sweeps the Deadwings!

Glory's Sun 06-03-2003 03:28 PM

That was like 3 weeks ago  and you can't call us the deadwings anymore the 70's and 80's are long gone. The ducks won't be doing anything with the cup except admiring it. ;)

Tactix 06-03-2003 03:54 PM

Giggere just stole the momentum from Broduer. If ducks win game 5, they win in 6. If they lose, they win in 7! Go Ducks!

Glory's Sun 06-03-2003 04:03 PM

You're kidding right??!! Stole the momentum?? The ducks were playing at home..everyone knows that the devils SUCK on the road. There's no way the ducks could win in 7.. they won't win a single game on the road. Brodeur's GAA is .99 at home.. WAY better than Giggy's GAA at home. Brodeur also sucks in OT.. we'll see what happens in NJ. I hate NJ but let's face it they are the better team with the BEST netminder. Giggy is good but he's not that good. He's had a good run this year. If he's this good then he will be able to repeat this kind of success year after year. I don't see that happening. If it does good for him but Brodeur is pretty much going to be the next best after Roy..especially since Roy is gone now.

Dr.Who 06-03-2003 04:58 PM

I hope to see NJ win but game 4 yesterday was pure pain.
First, NJ have no powerplay unit at all, it was awfull.

Second, the faceoff was horrible. Oates was winning every single one of them... like taking candy from a baby.

But Brodeur is strong, even in the O.T. he made one heck of a save before the goal. All his teamate crash the net and nobody could take the return...painfull again!!

Young Link 06-03-2003 05:02 PM

Brodeur is showing a lot of shakiness in net... he almost let in another fluke-ass goal last night.

If Anahiem can score early on him Thursday, the Cup is theirs.

He's not shaky at all. He let the one fluke goal in yes, but the one in game 4 was a bad bounce. IF any other goalie would've had the fluke goal and the almost goal they would've wilted. Broduer has nerves of steel. Also, the Devils have no powerplay they never have. They don't worry about it, hell they'd rather be shorthanded. If anaheim scores early, the devils will win. They are playing in NJ. That's a given win for NJ. Look for Madden and Gomez to provide huge offensive threats in game 5.

I can agree with that statement.

I think it is really up to game 5, whoever wins tonight will win the cup.

bender 06-05-2003 12:54 PM

The Ducks are killing me, I don't want to bet against the Devils at home tonight so I'm thinking tonight the Devils will take it and once they get back to CA ...I have no idea Jiggy got me so confused that I don't know what will happen there.

Krycheck 06-05-2003 09:04 PM

Damn!!
We scored first!! But so much for the scoring first theory :(

Devils got some damn ugly goals, I mean fugly goals. It was nice to see a high scoring game but that was rediculous.

Come on Ducks!! Take it back to NJ!!

richeee 06-08-2003 03:49 PM

C'mon Ducks!!!

Glory's Sun 06-08-2003 04:47 PM

too bad it's going back to NJ for game 7..ducks are done

dragon2fire 06-08-2003 06:04 PM

done are they

we shall see

Zeld2.0 06-08-2003 10:28 PM

i still say it aint over til its really over

hockey has such a low homecourt advantage and its too unpredictable

the bounces.. sometimes it bounces off the bar and out, other times the puck goes in

who knows what'll happen.. and game 7 is winner take all so i highly doubt any team is going to just give up

crackpot 06-09-2003 04:45 AM

With each team having won their home games, you'd think that the Devils have the advantage now, for this fricking awesome game 7 coming up tonight.
But I say it means a team is overdue for a road win, i.e. Ducks win!
Like flipping a coin and getting heads six times in a row... I put my money on tails.
Go Ducks. Please.

you would think that but let's remember that Broduer is 5-0 in playoff games following a game where he allowed 5 or more goals. Take that plus his GAA at home and you have your winner. :p

JoeyB 06-09-2003 06:03 AM

Anyone who is a fan of baseball, basketball or hockey knows that ANYTHING can happen in a Game 7. Everyone has made great points as to why the Devils or Ducks have the momentum, but it's really a matter of who will get the breaks, take advantage of those breaks and not get freaked out by the pressure of one game for the cup.

The experience probably goes to the Devils, but don't the Ducks have a certain "feel" about them?

Ducks 3-1.

crfpilot 06-09-2003 08:46 AM

GO DUCKS!!!!

Neotokyo 06-09-2003 09:02 AM

Ducks winning the cup will be the greatest shock in sports.

I think that's a bit of an overstatement.. Dodgers beating the Yanks in '54 was greater..and when the Red Sox win the world series again it will be better. it might be a shock in the hockey world but not in all of sports IMO ;)

Heh heh! That made me laugh. It's funny cuz it's true (that you can use stats to support anything, more or less)!!

Oh, I neglected to mention, I'm in Montreal, so I was rooting for the Senators (last canuck hope). This is the main reason I'm going for the Ducks. I learned to hate New Jersey good.

truth be told I hate the devils too. I'm a wings fan so I went against the common thinking of at least we got beat by the champs..nope I wanted Broduer to win. :D

About the stats I just can't help myself sometimes. I'm sure most hockey fans are that way if they think they can get away with it :D
