Brown is a lousy talent evaluator who can't coach young players and has no offensive strategy. The game has passed him by and unfortunately he was allowed to stay too long in Philly. Now look what's left. Good Luck with Mr. Do The Right Thing Hypocrite Detroit .

Lets put this another way.
You piss off your boss and alienate your workers. You are making the company millions of dollars though. Another manager has just become available who is known to make millions also but gets along with management and players alike. The owner puts out some feelers to the manager who is now availabe and he is interested. Who would you rather have...the manager who makes millions but cannot get along with the most important person(s) or a manager who has never had a problem getting along? Please answer honestly because if you say the one who does not get along then you are full of shit and need to learn basic management 101. One more thing you notice how he has not bad mouthed the Pistons and the Pistons are not bad mouthing him. There is mutual respect between Joe and Rick and Joe IS trying to help him secure another job any way he can. It is not Joe's fault that Rick and the owner did not see eye to eye. Art |

Either way maybe next year the Pistons could get by NJ or at least win one game. Hopefully Brown will bring new ideas in, after all he took the 76s to the finals.

How many coaches have actually won an NBA title? For that matter how many current NBA coaches have won an NBA title.
Riley, Jackson and Popavich (sp?) this is out of how many coaches in the NBA? Name one time Brown has gone into a situation where he had a playoff club that was a couple of players from being championship caliber? Please spare me using AI as an example. Lets see how the next couple of coaches do in Philly with him than we can compare how Brown did with him. NBA/ABA for three decades and you mention 2 players. Primma Donnas at that. Very nice. You forgot to mention how he brought the Indy franchise from crap and made playoffs or how he molded Philly into a finals team and got Derrick Coleman to play at a higher level and remember Derrick is known to be a trouble maker everyplace he has gone. He won an NCAA championship...maybe not the same thing but not any easier to do. Art |

Good for him
I'm a little mad that they let go a good coach, I felt that he deserved coach of the year in this season. He did an unbelievable job getting the to Eastern Conference finals and finishing first in the Eastern division, that was a no heart, no brain to do that to him. Philadelphia should hire him ![]()

I wanted JVG to go anywhere but the Rockets. I am pissed about that. It was time for Brown to leave Philly (and he has not always gotten along with his players) and I am not sure how he will do in Big D. They are a defensive monded team that suits him well. If they make it to the finals I think Darko will have more to do with it than Brown.
