Angels/Yankees

I don't want to make any grand proclamations about the Yankees playoff dreams being over, but tonight's game (Friday) must've been a back breaker.

I really don't know how the Angels are doing it. When I see that Yankees lineup I just shake my head in belief. Just one of their hitters would make a huge difference for the Angels. I still think it's mostly the Mike Scoiscia/Dodger thing that dooms the Yankees to failure. I really thought the Angels were done tonight when the Yankees came from behind and pulled in front... and then the Angels just kept putting on the pressure.

The Yankees have to be kicking themselves over this game and game 2. The series should already be over. They can still win it- they only have to win two in a row. But I'm hoping they won't. It will be refreshing to see someone besides the Red Sox and Yankees in the ALCS.

Also, if this wasn't a playoff game I can bet that A-Rod or Jeter would've had a ball thrown in their ear after watching B. Molina get beaned by Gordon.

I hate too root against teams, but I was watching the game last night and was definitely pulling for the Angels, but pretty much only because they are playing the Yankees. Ah well, what can you do?

I just kind of want some new blood in the World Series, and with the White Sox beating the Red Sox, that's well underway. True, the Angels did win a World Series, in 2002 I believe, but The Yankees always seem to be in the mix.

Losing like that at home can't help the Yankees at all, or maybe it'll inspire them to actually play well on Saturday, you never know, I suppose. We'll see how it goes, but... Go Angels!

All I can say is it does my heart proud to see Boston SWEPT, NY losing and knowing the networks are shitting bricks right now at the thought the ALCS will be between the Angels and Chisox.

It was sad though seeing Randy Johnson booed off Yankee field..... but maybe that will lead to him being traded.

I just wish San Diego and Houston had put up more fight.

I'm actually rooting for the Yankees..........................because I'm a ChiSox fan and I think they'd be easier to beat than the Angels. I just think the Angels' pitching is more consistent, and they have a scary line-up, even it they are missing names like A-Rod, Big Papi, and Jeter......

I think the Angels-White Sox would be a far better LCS then one involving the Yankees or Red Sox or both.

Both of the latter are almost exactly the same. They have awesome lineups, decent-to-good starters, and VERY shaky bullpens outside of the late innings. It would be a very boring series watching those two pound each other into submission interspersed with "commentary" from the Fox team.

The White Sox have a worse lineup then the Angels, but better starting pitching. I don't know much about thier bullpens, but I'll assume they are fairly equal. It would be a very interesting matchup, especially with the Black Sox Curse () angle for the Sox.

Ya know a Houston vs Chicago World Series would be excellent for the fans but for the network people, they'd be shitting bricks, with the announcers coming up with all kinds of excuses why the Yanks and St.Louis didn't make it.

As it stands they'll be making all kinds of excuses for why the BloSux aren't in the ALCS, and if the Yanks do lose..... lol they'll be making excuses for that also.

Though the nationwide interest might not be as high as Boston or the Yankees, I think Chicago is the third biggest TV market in the nation, and Houston the fourth, so at least they'd have that going for them. Often, the size of the team's TV market is a big factor in the desirability of having them on TV.

I went to the Padres playoff game last night: great stadium- horrible team. I think that the San Diego stadium is maybe my favorite stadium to visit in the bigs. When you're facing a must win game three and you trot out a 9-12 pitcher and your best hitter hit 18 homers then you're in a world of hurt.

Just finished watching game four between the yanks and angels. Good game to watch. Both teams played well the starting pitching was great and the Yanks just had a bit more hitting.

I'm going to game five in Anaheim and it should be great. I'll be field level at the third base foul pole.

Yankees suck!

One other thing--the weather shouldn't be a big factor except for the games in Chicago, perhaps. I don't like watching night baseball games in late October and early November when the players and fans are all bundled up. I think it affects the play on the field, plus it's not a comfortable environment for those fans that go to the stadium.
