Lindros Joins The LEAFS!
Hey Leaf or Hockey Fans.
What do you think about Eric Lindros joining the Leafs? |
Mistake, IMO. If he wasn't from the Toronto area and hadn't been lusted after for years by the Leafs, they never would have done this. Looking at it objectively, there were a dozen available guys on the free agent market who would have brought more to the Leafs than a guy with a skull like an eggshell.
|
The weak skull seems to be genetic... his brother, also a good player, had to leave the game because his head was hit too many times...
Oddly I somehow know quite a few people who know Eric and his brother quite well. From what I can tell, the guy is a big ass. Sundin is going to have his hands full of ego. |
I think he won't finish the season.
But then again, I'm a Wings fan, so maybe that's just hope. |
This would have been significant in 1992. In 2005, he is just a middle of the road FA prove to injuries. I'm pretty sure I would retained Owen Nolan over Lindros.
|
Really Dylan? Nolan over Lindros? I know there's the injury factor, but didn't you find that Nolan just sort of fell by the wayside after his first few weeks in TO? I know he was injured but he stank rotten in the playoffs. I would rather have Lindros than Nolan in the playoffs, assuming both were healthy. Actually, I'd like them both healthy in the PO's but I'd take Lindros.
|
I couldn't agree more Dylan, had this been 92, I'd be excited bit seeing as it's 05 I could care less. Lindros is damaged goods, he gets caught with a good hit and his careers over. I'd rather have Owen over Lindros any day. I hope the Leafs don't think Eric will take them to the promised land because I don't see that happening.
By the way Dylan, love the avatar such a good time for Cam. |
Excuse my arrogance, but is Domi still on the leafs?
|
Damn right he is. They paid him less than he would have got in Pittsburgh to protect Crosby and Lemieux, and he still stayed. Toronto has made him a local celebrity, and he knows it. I admit, I'm a Domi fan. The guys almost 40, and he is fiercly respected in the league. Sure, Domi loses more bouts now than he used to, but he'll fight anyone, anytime. That's what I like about him.
Domi, Lindros and Belak would be a good line to put out on the ice on the last shift of a blowout...lol |
You're excused and yes he is. I believe he re-upped for a year.
edit: Daoust beat me to it. |

Everyone I've ever met from Oshawa says they know Lindros. |

Also, my brother-in-law played minor hockey with him... |
He won't be a factor. I just find it ironic and fitting that the Forsberg / Lindos little bit of irony is complete now that the Flyers have picked up Peter.
|
He's not really an impact player anymore. If he can stay healthy, which isn't something I would expect, then he can be a solid forward. They aren't paying him huge money, but it's more than I would have invested in him.
