Spurs win
Damn that guy steve kerr was huge, they went on a 23-0 run to win 90-78. Steve Kerr hit 4 three's in the 4th quarter. The Spurs were down by 13. But the bigger picture is, Will the Spurs beat The Nets?

Yep, Dallas just fell apart in the fourth. If they had kept it together and won it would have been a great game 7.
Anyway, The Nets have chance if they can get Kidd & the rest of the Nets playing at 100% and they win game 1 for a confidence boost. |
Tim Duncan or Kenyon Martin? I'm going with Dunca, every time.
If the Nets want to win, they have to win away from the paint. The NJ guards may have an advantage - they'll need to shoot lites out to make up for the advantage SA will have underneath. |
I think it's gonna be a good series. The Nets are a solid team that aren't gonna let themselves get swept two years in a row. K-Mart has been a beast against everyone in the East. The question is how will he stack up against the Spurs? Considering that Robinson will most likely guard him he's gonna feast on him also. Kidd should own Parker. Kidd plays great D and most people never even realize it. The guy that needs to be consistent is Richard Jefferson. If he plays well the Nets have a shot. I think the Spurs are gonna win, but it won't be as easy as most people think. Duncan will have a field day cause the Nets can't put K-Mart on him. They don't want to get him in foul trouble. The Spurs have trouble closing out games and the Nets are very constant. I'm excited about the Finals this year.

Duncan also had a field day with Dallas on most nights and the Spurs still lost 2 games. Not to mention NJ is on a hot streak, sweeping the Pistons and the Celtics. Confidence is going to be a factor. If NJ gets the first win in a big way, the Spurs might look back at what happened to Boston and Detroit and play a better game or they might cringe, time will tell.

I give the Nets the edge here.
Kidd vs Parker - Kidd by a mile. Robinson vs Collins - Cancelled out Robinson vs Martin - Martin walks all over him. Duncan vs Collins - Big edge for Duncan, but Collins wont be doing much besides defending. Duncan vs Matrin - Slight edge for Duncan - he's bigger, but slower than Martin, they both have the same jumper, but Duncan has an awesome hook. Martin will have to play good D. Bowen vs Kittles - Kittles has the edge. Bowen isn't hard to defend, and he's an on-the-ball defender. Kidd will find Kittles for a lot of open shots because Kerry is not a high priority for Bowen. Jackson vs Jefferson - Jefferson by a mile. Jackson is not mature enough for this level of basketball, just Jefferson learned a lot. On SA home games, they will cancel eachother out, but on NJ home games, Jefferson will make a killing. |
