Yep, sure it's July 06th and we're just over the halfway point - but I'm officially giving up and beginning to a) think of excuses why we tanked yet again and b) practice reciting 'just wait until next year'.

I'm not a fairweather fan, and usually don't bad mouth the boys...but with this 6 game slide, no offense, lee hurt, etc....UGH. Fucking Cubs.

If you're talking about the division title, then yeah, give up. The Cubs could still get the WC and make some noise in the playoffs. They just need to get healthy and stay that way. Too bad about DLee last night.

You gotta keep the faith alive. 2006 may be the year, especially if you can fix some bullpen issues.

Um, they suck. Dusty sucks. It's my favorite team but they are utterly unwatchable. I predict 4th place by the break.

Never been so frustrated with them well in awhile. They had a real shot this year but with Corey hitting 230, neifi perez leading off, the bullpen sucking horribly at points, and injuries its just been a terrible year. That said, another hitter, a lead off hitter, and a better bullpen and the cubs will be in decent shape for uhhh yea next year. I believe this year is a lost cause and even if they got to the playoffs they dont have the tools to win it all unless they make a few deadline moves.
