So Brett Boone goes to the Twins. I kinda thought Boston would try to get him.

The Bellhorn versus Boone debate is really not even. Boone's numbers have been horrible in recent years and one has to wonder if the steroid rumors are true. Now mind you, Bellhorn has been horrible this year with the exception of a few bright spots here and there. Personally, I'd rather see Bellhorn stay in there and not disrupt the idiot mentality.

Unlike the MFYs, second base is not a big problem for the Sox. The bullpen and the blow-up doll at first base are the biggest holes on the team (no pun intended).

So why isn't Olerud getting more starts?? Does Francona owe Millar something??

No fucking clue on this one. My only guess is that Tito wants to keep the leftie-rightie thing going throughout the line-up.

Millar needs to go. Yes, he had the walk against Mariano that led to Dave Roberts's steal. But this 2005 and he sucks ass. Time to go for fat-boy.

Glory's Sun 07-14-2005 08:12 AM

Tito needs to man up then. He needs to tell Millar to sit. Now that Curt is activated.. it's gonna be interesting to watch. We may need the defense.. enter Olerud.

Tonight is game 1 vs the skanks.

I think the MFYs realize their season is coming down to winning this series. If they lose 3 of 4 or get swept, they are done. It should be a great series, especially with Arroyo pitching tonight. I'd love to see him nail A-Rod in the back again and watch Tek take the primadona down.

Glory's Sun 07-14-2005 10:20 AM

oh man that would rock beyond belief!

djtestudo 07-14-2005 11:24 AM

Boston sweep of the Yankees and an Orioles sweep of the Mariners.

Get the Yankees out of the way so the good teams can fight it out.

so I guess you're going for a repeat of last years WS then :p

:grumble: Well ... damn. I don't know what to say really. I'm disappointed that's for sure. We drop another game late. Fuck

SmyDnBz 07-15-2005 12:14 PM

Finally, I have some time to post, I'm pumped about the win last night......although tonight is a different matter, I sense a high scoring affair. I'm not sold on Schilling being so ineffective out of the bullpen, it was his first time out and he got hit by two great hitters....I'll take it

It's alright, I've had fun with enough O's fans to take some of it back :D

Don't worry about it, man. As last year's playoffs proved, one loss (or three) is not the end of the world. The Sox will bounce back and take this division.

It's one outing for Curt so it doesn't say anything about him being sucessfull during his short relief stint. However, one thing was apparant and that is that his velocity is way down. I didn't see the game but I heard he topped out at 91 and most of his FBs were in the 87-88 range. That's not good.

I came across this also and it doesn't look good either:

Curt Schilling - S - Red Sox

Television analysts offered some interesting insight into Curt Schilling's appearance in the ninth inning of last night's game.

Rick Sutcliffe, on ESPN2, quickly analyzed that Schilling wasn't pushing off the rubber effectively with his surgically repaired ankle, saying he ''had no drive at all.'' ''I'd be surprised if he's thrown in this role again,'' he went on to say. ''He's not ready to pitch at this level.'' Dennis Eckersley offered his thoughts after the game as well. ''Throwing the splitter shows there's no confidence in your gas [fastball],'' he said. Jul. 15 - 9:56 am et

CLEVELAND ROCKS......... #1 A.L. WILDCARD SEED

As the Chisux choke and the A's fall apart who's there????????

Cleveland

As the Spankees egos take over and they decide not to play as a team.... who's there??????

CLEVELAND

The Jake is coming alive in 2005, and the Indians have the pitching, the hitting and the attitude to take it all baby.

1994 before the strike Cleveland was in the same spot..... and who knows what could have happened... 11 years later Cleveland has the team that everyone else is envious of and this time it has the pitching.

2006 BABY A REPEAT OF 1995 EXCEPT WITH A BETTER OUTCOME THE W.S. RINGS and another 5-6 year run of owning the A.L.

Insanity, just pure insanity.

WHOOMP there they are

WHOOMP there they are

CLEVELAND ROCKS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like freaking Joe Morgan (who is an icon for his play in Cincy), just can't stand the fact CLEVELAND ROCKS. He sounds so bad, so unintelligent about Cleveland's team.

Course he is a lousy announcer.

Don't consider me on the bandwagon, but I would love to see the Tribe stave-off the MFYs for the Wildcard. Purely selfish reason, but, nonetheless, I'll be pulling for the Witchita State's own Casey Blake and rest to beat the Yanks.

Don't look now but the Tribe is closing in on the ever faltering ChiSux, and have the 4th best record in baseball and the best since the all star game....

WHOOMP THERE IT IS......

Bring on the Bosux..... maybe Manny will get homesick and come home to Cleveland (via trade after the season) annd I'm sure Philly would love to dump Thome.....

Oh wait..... WE DON'T NEED THEM..............

pan6467 09-28-2005 12:41 PM

All Cleveland has to do is go 4-1 and they hit the wildcard at least.

If they go 5-0 they win the Central...... whoomp there it is..... and out of the other 3 teams the Tribe has the best chance.

Glory's Sun 09-28-2005 12:43 PM

this is probably the craziest race I've seen in a LONG time..

I think the Sox can pull out the AL East.. I'm hopin the tribe can manage to win the Central. Why? Because the Sox will kill the Tribe in a series :p

dylanmarsh 09-29-2005 08:48 AM

To make a variation on a Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome quote:

"Two teams enter, one team leaves. Two teams enter, one team leaves."

Adios, Injuns. The Red Sox will have their revenge for 1948!

pan6467 09-29-2005 04:44 PM

All the Indians have to do is win 2 and have the Yanks sweep Boston......

Or.....

Just take 3 and and have Boston lose 2 vs. the yanks

Or

win 2 and have the Bosox sweep the Yanks

Or

win 1 have Boston lose all 4

Or.......

Point is the Indians hold it in the palm of thier hand.... UNLESS they choke and go 1-3 these last 4 games they WIN the WC.

And because Boston fans are worse than NY fans....... would love to see the Yanks sweep the SUX.

And as of this second...... the INDIANS are crushing the D'Rays 6-0 and what are the BoSUX doing????????? LOSING

pan6467 09-29-2005 04:51 PM

In all seriousness...... even if the TRIBE loses and goes home, no one expected them to come this far and it was one Hell of a fucking season and race at the end.

THANK YOU INDIANS FOR MAKING THIS SEASON SO GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
