The DReds Are a Damn Embarrassment!
This is a damn embarrassing excuse of a baseball team. Top to bottom this organization has proven itself to be in complete disarray. How do you top blowing a 6 run lead with three outs to go in the game? Simple...you come out on a night where your opening day starter takes the hill and allows the FIRST 7 BATTERS TO SCORE!!!! This is a quote from the Dreds web site "Paul Wilson sputtered in the first, putting the Reds in an early hole." DO YA THINK? Wow...you give up 10 runs in the first inning after allowing the first 7 batters to score (I think he even hit three of them)...and that is SPUTTERING? That ladies and gentlemen is a cataclysmic collapse!!! Sputtering... Sputtering is what I do when I tinkle in the morning. Giving up a 10 spot in the first friggin inning is an absolute abortion of a pitching performance.
This organization is a damn embarrassment. They can't identify talent, they can't groom talent, they can't manage or coach it and for that matter they can't pitch it, they can't hit it, they certainly can't catch it and by gawd if they are lucky enough to catch one they sure as hell can't throw it. Cheeeeeeeeeerrrymany.....this is already an abysmal season. How long has it been in Cincinnati that the sports fans in this town have looked forward to friggin football and the Bengals returning to the front pages. The semi professional football that lost more games in the 90's than any other team in a 10 consecutive year period is now the favorite son. The Dreads have become the Bungals of the 90's. Unreal... Well...at least most people aren't dumb enough to pay their money to watch this crap. Against the 1st place Cardinals they only drew 42,000 for the three game series. It will be interesting to see what they draw this weekend against the Daahjuz and I hope it doesn't break 40,000. Re-Gawt-Damn-Diculous. <--- doesn't do the look one bit of justice. WHERE'S MY SCOTCH!?

I go to college in Cincinnati (Xavier University) but I am from St. Louis. I went to the game wednesday night, and it was nice. I love the stadium and paying $5 bleacher seats, then sitting 20 rows back from the 3rd base line, and then the last couple innings right behind the dugout. I honestly saw more Cardinal fans there than Reds fans. Great site and game.
The Monday night game was awful until the 9th inning. A kid on my floor is obsessed with the Reds and was talking smack the whole game, that is until the Cardinals MVP came in to pitch for the Reds.

What sucks is this will give Lindner the excuse to cut payroll. It's like they aren't even trying..... Paul Wilson is your ace and you go out and sign fucking Milton to a contract where you could have gotten a real pitcher? Fuck Wilson and Milton they will never be worth what they are paying them. The best off season move was trading for Ortiz (whom I truly like) and he was on the DL.
The biggest problem though is noone is hitting and that kills a pitching staff because they feel they have to overcompensate and in turn make too many mistakes. Get rid of Graves, he's never been the same since that abysmal try at starting, put Wagner in as your closer, trade Pena or Kearns for a true SP and just let Claussen, Harang and Hdson if he comes back lead the staff. The saddest thing is top to bottom the REDS have a tremendous lineup and great young pitching but they lack a good manager and discipline. Cut down on the strikeouts, get the guys hitting and play baseball, stop pussy footing around. It's still early and hopefully, the players pull out of their slump and they all start hitting like they are capable of. I have faith they can comeback and make a run at it, they just need to get their shit together and get some leadership on that team.

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?" |
