Terry Francona Hospitalized
Francona taken to hospital
By Jeff Horrigan Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona was taken by ambulance to aManhattan hospital this morning after experiencing ``chest stiffness'' while preparing for today's final game of the Sox' three-game, season-opening series against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Francona arrived at the stadium just after 8 a.m. and was meeting with coaches at approximately 9:30 when he complained of the stiffness. ``He was doing his normal routine and just didn't feel good,'' said general manager Theo Epstein. ``He had all of his faculties about him when he left.'' Team trainer Jim Rowe accompanied Francona to New York Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. The team hoped to have an update on his condition sometime this afternoon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As someone who bleeds Yankee blue, I'll wish Terry a speedy recovery and hope he's back on his feet soon... |
I bet George slipped something in his drink :hmm:
no, seriously I hope he's ok and has a speedy recovery. Maybe that homer by Jeter had something to do with it.. damn Jeter |
Wasn't Tito diagnosed with a heart ailment not too long ago? Scary stuff if this is a reoccurence.
