Any soccer (football) fans out there?
This thread will probably sink like a mob snitch in a cement overcoat, but I'm wondering if there any soccer fans out there. Especially English soccer. I'm a big fan, and read the news over there every day on football365.com. The players over there are involved in the same kind of stories as here: sex, drugs, law-breaking, etc. They seem to have a racial issue in European football, however. I guess there is a lot of racial taunting from fans. We rarely see that here, thankfully.
I don't have a favorite team. I just love to watch a good game. Yesterday's game between Manchester United and Exeter was fun to watch. ManU kept pressuring but couldn't find the net. Their shots looked like field goal attempts. It should have finished 5-0 instead of 2-0. |

Yes I'm a footy fan. I support Nottingham Forest who are going to get relegated this season. This is despite putting up season ticket prices and justifying it by putting in a letter “We are serious about promotion are you ?” This is a very depressing time for Forest fans, made even worse by the fact our local rivals who are a bunch of sheep shagging bastards recently beat us. Rant over.

So what is the difference between playing in Division One and Division Coke? It can't be as wide a gap as between Coke and Premiership. Was Nottingham in the Premership recently? Here is what is amazing to me... The teams that get promoted go out and spend for players to help stay up. The teams that get relegated have to get rid of players due to the lesser amount of money that will be coming in. I'm suprised that there aren't more teams like Leeds, Leicester, and Wolves who totally fall on their faces when they get put down. Is that what happened to Nottingham?

Yeah Nottingham Forest spent tons on money on totally crap players. We had a very bad manager called David Pratt who totally screwed us up. We are badly in debt, with players who can miss a open goal from 2 yards out, and other players who could not tackle my 83 year old granny ! The only hope we have left is if someone comes along and shoots all the players and mangement and starts again.

Yeah Wright-Phillips is playing great. He should be in the England squard ahead of Becks. He is faster, has a higher work rate and is far more committed to football. Also one of Nottm Forests previous managers kicked him out because he didn't think he would make the grade. What I wouldn't give for a time machine !

If I had a time machine I could have avoided the 3 times I broke ankles. Then maybe I could have played in central defense for someone like QPR in the mid 70s. Then again, maybe I was just an accident waiting to happen.
Interesting action at the foot of the Premiership table this past weekend. Lot's of winners. Somehow I think Saints are going to pull thru this. |
