Which player/team did you HATE as a kid?
As a LA Ram fan I really hated the Vikings particularly Fran Tarkenton. I hated watching that little whirling dervish escape the pass rush time and time again. He had Chuck Knox's number. (I've hated the Rams ever since they left So Cal.)
As a Laker fan I really hated 1. Pistons (nothing to like or respect about them particularly Lame-beer and I say ahhh (as I take it in the mouth) Thomas) 2. 80s Celtics (ugliest team ever, although I totally respected Bird and McHale) It's the saddest thing ever to see the Celtics suck. 3. Moses Malone and the 76ers. As a Dodger Fan I really hated the Yankees. And I still do.

As a kid I can't really recall who I hated (probably because I didn't know anything about sports to actually hate any of them), but I can tell you that I despise plenty of teams today, on the top of that list would be the Broncos. Followed by the Cheifs and Patriots. I don't think to highly of the Chargers, Bucs, Packers, Falcons, Steelers, Niners, Giants and Seahawks either.

I personal;ly still dislike the yankees a lot. this is kinda silly to say, I don't really hate a team but more dislike division. I don't like the American league and I don't like the AFC...how does that work?

Not to thread jack my own thread, but I was really pissed when the Raiders left LA. I was just starting to like them and was more than willing to adopt them as my new team. I was at the game that Bo Jackson got hurt at. I remember seeing about a hundred Bengals fans at the start of the game and not one of them stayed or were wearing their jerseys by the end of the 1st quarter. Wild.
I hate that my son has no NFL home team to root for in LA.

Teams I hated? I think the Celtics, don't know why, I just couldn't like them one bit. Also, the Cleveland Browns, I'm a Steeler fan, and have always hated their teams. In hockey, I couildn't stand Chicago, the Blackhawks.
My dislike for teams has certainly changed now though. |

Hated Montreal in the NHL, wasn't a big fan of Charlie Bourgeois, he used to play for the Blues in the 80's hated the guy, and Ulfy for the Penguins, just never forgave him for what he did to Cam.

Teams I hate? The Bears, the Cubs, and the Yankees (none of those need any explanation). As for teams I simply don't care for: the Eagles, the Falcons, the Vikings, the Seahawks, and the Broncos.

Green bay and Bret Favre. I'm sick of the media and commentators giving him a free pass everytime he screws up! its like hes a god or somthing. John madden just sits there and verbally sucks him off.. "he's so composed, look at him just sit on the bench" Give me a friggin' break! I guess hes my favorite gay quarter back though. Also, the blackhawks, vikings, pacers, and nets. oh yeah, the lakers too.

I hated the Oakland Athletics. All of them. I'm a Jays fan and for awhile oakland would always hand us a beating, then we beat them in the ALCS and everything was okay again .

Magic Johnson, the Lakers. I was born in Boston and still think Larry Bird is a basketball god.

Whenever anyone talks about sport toughness I bring up Youngblood playing on a broken leg. Merlin Olsen, John Capelleti (sp), Hacksaw Reynolds, Rich Saul, Duval Love those Rams were the greatest. Even though I hated watching Pat Haden struggling to see over the O line- you still loved all 5" 7 of his courage. I have a football with the signatures of the entire 1980 Superbowl team given to me as a present when I was a kid.

Since you saw that superbowl, do you think the rams threw that game? Remember they were up at the end of the third quarter, they actually sprinted to the other side of the field to start the 4th. Then they folded by the spead almost exactly. I still lament that game. My favorites were #58, Isiah Robertson and Nolan Cromwell. |

I hate the Green Bay Packers and especially Brett Favre. I cannot stand him at all. I hate the way that the announcers kiss his ass so much. For instance in the game they played against the Vikings a few weeks ago he threw 4 interceptions. But the announcers still kept talking about how he was one of the best quarterbacks ever and this and that about how they could see what he meant to do on that play. Basically they were making excuses for his mistakes. And almost every game I see of Green Bay this occurs.
I just flat out just don't like him or green bay.

I was 14 when I saw that game. I don't think I was too into betting or the spread at that time allthough a few years later I cleaned up by betting stupid white kids who thought gerry cooney could beat Larry Holmes. I remember some Ram games that got so bad that I used to pray they would put Nolan Cromwell in at quarterback. Oh yeah. As a LA King's Fan I really hated the Calgary Flames. And the Oilers- it was really hard rooting for Gretsky and Marty when they first came over.

I currently hate Eli Manning and how all the media seems to cut him so much slack especially when it comes to comparing Eli and Big Ben. There is no comparison...one is a winner and the other one is hyped up due to his amazing lineage of QBs.

this is revisited from an old thread I believe as I have to post the same two names I put on that one then.
Barry Bonds, the guy was an ass to the media and fans while in Pittsburgh then he goes to SF starts using 'roids and becomes Mr. Popularity. Warren Sapp, what else, besides hanging onto Jerry Rice's facemask until he blew out his knee has this fat Jabba The Hut wannabe done?

I have always and will always hate the Yankees. Even though Cleveland was so bad in my childhood TWO movies were made about their poor performance, I always felt it was the Yankees who held them back(though I know the Yankees sucked almost as much during the 14 years they shared a division during my lifetime). Fuck the Yankees. Fuck them up their stupid asses.
