TFP Bowl Playoffs Week #2 (All can particpate)
This is the second week of the TFP Bowl Playoffs. All can post their picks, but only those listed below can eventually be the winner of the TFP Bowl Trophy(tm). Last year separate threads were created, but with improved technology, there will only be one thread this year. Please read all of the instructions closely. If you make a mistake, it is your mistake, not ours. Good luck all.
The tournament is a single elimination format. Therefore, no one should have an advantage heading into the playoffs. Anyone in the tournament can win. Here are the match ups for the second week: 1. djtestudo vs. 8. Chauncey 2. Giant Hamburger vs. 10. BonesCPA 3. steelerz vs. 6. archer2371 4. ironchef82 vs. 5. Fantasma Pick the winner of each game, then make your choices on the tiebreakers. The tiebreakers have changed since the regular season, so please read them carefully: The tiebreakers are “sudden death” style, not “best of” style. Team name or points total only is needed. If neither player picks the right team in the tiebreaker, then the next tiebreaker is used. First Tiebreaker: Highest scoring team of the weekend. You have eight teams to choose from in weeks one and two. Team name is needed. Second Tiebreaker: Lowest scoring team of the weekend. Team name is needed. Third Tiebreaker: Total points of all games played on the weekend. Weeks one and two have four games (eight teams) being played. All points of all teams playing is the last number. The closest without going over wins. If both go over, then the closest. Spectre will close the thread the at some point before the first playoff game each week. If you do not have your pick in by the time the thread closes, you will be eliminated from the playoffs. If you miss your picks, your opponent will automatically win. (Do not complain if Spectre closes the thread early.) Finally, since there is the possibility of "unsportsmanlike" picking (e.g. matching your opponents picks and just changing the tiebreaker amounts), we trust in your honesty and sportsmanship in this endeavor. In future weeks, this will be controlled by a requirement of PM’ing your picks directly to me if you are still in the playoffs. Once all picks are in, they will be posted by me. This will start in week 3 of the playoffs. Good luck to all those playing! AFC Division Round 4:30pm (EST) Saturday January 15, 2005 NY Jets (11-6, 5-4 road) Pittsburgh Steelers (15-1, 8-0 home) NFC Division Round 8:00pm (EST) Saturday January 15, 2005 St. Louis Rams (9-8, 3-6, road) Atlanta Falcons (11-5, 7-1 home) NFC Division Round 1:00pm (EST) Sunday January 16, 2005 Minnesota Vikings (9-8, 4-5 road) Philadelphia Eagles (13-3, 7-1 home) AFC Division Round 4:30pm (EST) Sunday January 16, 2005 Indianapolis (13-4, 5-3 road) New England Patriots (14-2, 8-0 home)
