Laff at Oklahoma! Guess who failed again? Our lovely BCS system! Oklahoma should have NEVER been in this game. Thats obvious at this point. Down with the BCS!

yeah those camera angles were quite the experience.
usc already beat the other two teams, although auburn did improve since they last played (but the sec was weaker than normal). i was surprised at the game; i thought usc was better last year. and i was a bit worried after the first score. but did anyone at espn predict this correctly? that college gameday crowd was a bit misguided...usc losing in a lopsided contest? |

It's pretty sweet considering just how wrong they were, and that I myself picked USC. Imagine if they had Mike Williams... Leinart would have thrown maybe 2 more TDs.

not to mention the loss of Whitney Lewis, Winston Justice and Kenechi Udeze. if all those guys didn't declare for the draft or get suspended/ruled ineligible, USC would have won by an even larger margin (which is absolutely absurd to even imagine). oh, and Spartak...you have the best avatar ever. ever. yeah, then postgame the analysts made quite the shift. now oklahoma didn't even deserve to be playing in the game (nevermind that blowout we foresaw) and we sure wish that those mean presidents would let usc and auburn play each other. i'm sorry, but the situation is much different from last year. vt almost won that game. i doubt auburn would beat usc.
but a tourney would be an improvement anyway. now there is talk of a selection committee since the ap removed their poll. sounds like another dumb idea from the leaders of our higher education system. |

Thats why I never pay much attention to people on TV. They'll hang from one teams nuts, and as soon as they lose, they'll talk down on them like they shouldn't be playing the game. I'm a huge Auburn fan, and I'm not sure if Auburn could of beat USC, but I'm positive it would of been a much better game than that. Oklahomas secondary is terrible... |

I don't see why there should not be a playoff system.
After all basketball and lower-division football already has them in place, why does the premier college sport have to deal with this controversy and frankly bullshit year in and year out ? And I don't see why NCAA is so against this, the TV revenue generated by the playoffs would be astonishing.

You're right, the situation is different from last year. It's worse. Two teams finished undefeated that were not given a shot at the championship. Last year, the BCS gave us a good game. It may have picked the correct teams. This year, it obviously picked the wrong team(OU). |

3 teams finished undefeated, don't forget utah.
auburn was definitely in control of the game, but vt managed to make the score close (and failed to convert on a few deep possessions). usc struggled against teams weaker than vt. this is why i thought the game would be closer. vt and auburn have both improved since they lost to usc, but i still don't think either would beat usc. no way to prove this, just my feeling. and i don't think a small championship tourney would prevent me from watching the jiffy lube bowl, as long as the teams are evenly matched. |
