Lasting Sports Memories of 2004
Hello All:
Since it is now January 1, 2005 and since 2004 was the greatest sports year I ever had, I was curious to see what all of you consider to be the most memorable and most forgetable moments in your sports world. I'll start: Most memorable: The Red Sox finally beating the Yankees and then disposing of the Cards. D'uh. Most forgetable: The US Men's Basketball "Team" earning the bronze in Athens. Didn't we event this fucking sport? |

Most memorable - red sox winning the world series. Who'd have guessed it? (i'm a die hard dodger fan)
Least memorable - the kobe/shaq/phil squabble, kobe's criminal trial and kobe accusing Karl Malone of making a pass at Kobe's wife (who really is a serious piece of ass after all). Kobe is not a normal human being grounded in everyday reality. Anybody who has millions and millions of dollars before the age of 20, who lives in luxury every day has suffered serious disconect with the world surrounding him. |

Maybe if the overpaid "superstars" got off their collective size 60 butts (Mr O'Neal I'm looking in your direction), and maybe if the sports media actually backed the guys instead of ripping them at every opportunity, perhaps they would have done better. Least memorable: tossup between the media hysteria around Boobgate and Basketbrawlgate. Most memorable: Andreychuck finally getting on the Cup, Arsenal winning the EPL at White Hart Lane, Arsenal setting the record for the longest unbeaten run in league football.

Same here, not a great year. The Yankees choking, watching the Sox win our trophy, no hockey, the Bills snapping out of their funk, going on that great second-half run just to piss it all away on the last day of the season and miss the playoffs AGAIN (although technically that was this year already) just not that great. Next year will be better.
DAMMIT I'M A YANKEES FAN, I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO SAY THAT SHIT! -Mikey |
