TFP Football Pool Week #14
Week #14 - Time to start ordering playoff tickets (or looking at the draft order). The final four weeks of the season mean a lot to teams, especially those looking at the 2005 draft. In honor of the end of the loser pool, this week we are focusing on the “winners” - the teams that are focusing on the draft. Realistically, there are three teams not fighting so that they can be on the clock first. I say that in addition to rooting for teams to make the playoffs, everyone should have that special team that you hope gets the first pick of the draft. History has shown that you can be successful at getting the first pick, and still be in the race the following year. That my friends, is what every other team roots for, and so should you. I’ve got my eye on a team, and with any luck, they will be on the clock for the first pick from the end of their last game this season. Here’s hoping!
TFP Football Pool rules: 1. Pick one team from each game to win the game. If they win, you get one point. Ties count as a loss. The most points win. (Points spreads are not included, so therefore they do not matter. “Just win, Baby” - Al Davis) 2. After all games are picked, give a point total for the total points scored in the Monday night football game. This is used as a tie breaker. The closest, without going over will break the tie. If all tied go over, the closest wins. 3. Have your picks in before the first kickoff. The thread will be closed at some point after midnight EST the night before the first game. (Thank you Spectre.) Don't be late - PM's after the thread is closed will not count. (Effective 12/1/04) If you are under a temporary suspension of TFP user benefits (banned), then emails with your picks will not be accepted. If you get your picks in before bannation, they count. For convenience purposes please only list the winning team name. You should copy and delete from the schedule provided. PLEASE KEEP THE GAMES/TEAMS IN THE ORDER THEY ARE LISTED BELOW! Thank you, and good luck. *Note on the upcoming “TFP Playoffs”* The format of the TFP Football Playoffs will be the same as last year, with the top 16 players eligible to participate. It will be a seeded tournament (1 vs 16, etc.) with a single elimination. Specifics on the picks will be available once the playoffs start. If there is a tie between players at a given spot, a specific week (picked at random - trust me) will be eliminated. This process will be repeated until the seeds are determined. If a player has missed a week, that week will not be eligible to be eliminated. If a player declines the opportunity, the next player in line will be eligible to compete. Week #14 Team (2004 record, 2004 road/home record) Sunday December 12, 2004 Chicago (5-7, 3-3 road) Jacksonville (6-6, 3-3 home) Cleveland (3-9, 0-5 road) Buffalo (6-6, 4-2 home) Indianapolis (9-3, 4-2 road) Houston (5-7, 3-3 home) NY Giants (5-7, 3-3 road) Baltimore (7-5, 4-2 home) Seattle (6-6, 3-3 road) Minnesota (7-5, 5-1 home) Cincinnati (6-6, 2-4 road) New England (11-1, 6-0 home) Detroit (5-7, 3-3 road) Green Bay (7-5, 3-3 home) New Orleans (4-8, 2-3 road) Dallas (5-7, 3-3 home) Oakland (4-8, 2-4 road) Atlanta (9-3, 5-1 home) Miami (2-10, 1-5 road) Denver (7-5, 4-2 home) NY Jets (9-3, 4-2 road) Pittsburgh (11-1, 6-0 home) San Francisco (1-11, 0-6 road) Arizona (4-8, 3-2 home) St. Louis (6-6, 2-4 road) Carolina (5-7, 2-4 home) Tampa Bay (5-7, 1-5 road) San Diego (9-3, 5-1 home) Philadelphia (11-1, 5-1 road) Washington (4-8, 2-4 home) Monday December 13, 2004 Kansas City (4-8, 2-4 road) Tennessee (4-8, 1-4 home) This week’s prize: A duck call.
