is Herm Edwards the man to take the Jets forward?

I think Herm is a great coach... definitely in the top 50%... but time after time his play calling is impossible to understand... he goes from being too conservative, to taking too much risk... and I know he cant win if the Jets lose... if the play goes wrong its always going to be the wrong call... but the time management against the Ravens was just crazy. The Pats were there for the beating, but bad coaching let the game get away too.

I honestly feel that Herm has made the Jets a better team, and has built up a strong group of players, but I am starting to wonder is he the right guy to take them to the next level?

I think the Jets are still a play off team, but they are a step away from the next level right now.

I'm surprised that you follow US-football that closely. I didn't think anyone on the other side of the pond cared at all.

Other than hating the Jets, I have no useful information to add to this thread.

Herm Edwards is a great coach. He got a great pedigree. He was an outstanding player at UC Berkeley as well as in the NBA. He's a players coach and his players love him. Simply put, he's excellent.

btw, i live in LA and dont really care about the Jets but i happen to think Edwards is an excellent coach.

I dont know whats wrong - but Carter is out of the game already and Bollinger is playing... come back soon Chad!

as a person, I think Herm is absolutely top class, and as a coach I think he has achieved a lot with the Jets, butIm still not convinced he is the right man to turn the Jets into a superbowl team.

herm edwards is a classy guy and coach. he says what he means and means what he says.
he has the jets playing great football, and they haven't really missed a stepped with pennington out... they kept things in place for his return yesterday.

the jets only problem right now is those pesky patriots!

the jets will continue to compete because they play well together, have a good mix of young guys (santana moss, jonathan vilma) and veterans (curtis martin, the o-line) that love the coach they play for.
