Being an Ohioan I have to just cheer on the Browns today even though I feel they will probably lose with the Steelers and their great quarterback. Will be a fun game to watch as always. What's with this Cleveland curse of mediocre teams though? Blah! Have a good football day.

Man, I love Garcia.

Everyone criticizes the guy (even his coach), but I love seeing the guy out there throwing his body around and giving 100%.

The Browns are having another average/mediocre year, but they are a neat team to watch, primarily because of Garcia and his "give all" play style.

It would be great to see them take down the Steelers today. Will it happen? Probably not, but they did beat the Ravens in Week 1, so who knows?

The Browns are a fun team, and despite them not being an elite team, I still really enjoy watching them and seeing them do well.

Read Terry Pluto's book.... can't think of the name, but it talks about how the Browns were set up to fail...... goes into depth and everyone I've talked to whose read it says they can understand why the Browns haven't done anything yet.

He talks about how the Browns had to rely on the NFL scouting reports for their first draft because the Browns didn't have scouts or coaches yet, how Bernie Kosar, the greatest Brown since Jim Brown, said 2 years was too short a time to prepare, etc.

As long as the Browns stay away from 7 yard punts they do make most games exciting.... they lose most but very rarely is it totatlly one-sided.

I'll go along with that. I hope the Browns trounce the Steelers today. Maybe that guy( not sure of his name) will make good on his threat to to hit Big Ben in the head. We need to get Maddux back in there.

3-3, 3 game winning streak, going to beat GS and Charlotte twice for 3 more wins, having a 6 game winning streak.

Blah blah blah The Bengals baby are coming on hard and strong and showing why Cincy will make the playoffs. They may not beat Pitt, but Balt. and Cleve. will go down.

you guys are nuts. My Steelers have the division all but sewn up. They are sitting at 8-1 with 7 games remaining. Even if they go 3-4 the rest of the way (which I figure is the worst they are likely to do) then they finish at 11-5 which WILL take the division. The Browns are now officially done, and Cinci will do no better than 8-8 this year. That leaves only the Ravens as possible division competitors. Sitting at 6-3, they'll have to win 5 of their last 7 to catch the Steelers. NOT gonna happen baby, no way, no how. Not with Boller behind center. Myabe, JUST MAYBE, if they had some real receivers to bail out the youngster, they could make some noise. They dont.

As for them putting Maddox out, we (Steeler fans, at least) DO thank the Ravens. However, you Ravens fans should thank Herm Edwards and the Jets for the gift win yesterday, thus allowing yinz to avoid going down by 3 games.

Finally, it is entirely possible that the Ravens will win the Dec. 26 rematch against the Steelers. The Black n Gold will likely have the division won by then, so unless they are fighting for home field advantage, they'll rest most of the starters. Even in such an eventuality, I wouldnt put money on the Ravens, as our backups (besides Roethlisberger) have been kicking ass and taking names all season.

I think you are right about Pitt winining the division, but not because of Boller and our wideouts. Baltimore has two tough away games at Indy and New England

Just out of curiousity, has Baltimore had a good quaterback and receiving core in the last 4 years (3 out of which they made the playoffs and went a combined 5-2)?
The reason I am harping on that is because that is the most overused argument on why Baltimore won't do well. The Ravens win with defense and special teams. You will be pressed to find a hanful of teams that have had the consistent success that Baltimore has over the last four years.

The Jets didn't give the Ravens a gift, they earned it.
Baltimore outscored NY in the second half. Even with the clock debacle, that didnt guarantee that the Jets would have scored a TD on a team that has allowed the least amount of points in the NFL this year.

You want to talk about a gift win, how about when Vinny Testarverde fumbled when Dallas was in the driver's seat for a win against Pitt.

Steelers played James Farrior said after the game ""We had a little present today", "But we'll take it and we appreciate it."

I'd agree with you except for one thing: Farrior drove Anderson back into Testaverde, which caused the fumble. James caused that fumble just the same as if he had drilled Vinny.


As for the Ravens, they still dont have enough offense to win in the playoffs. Defense, yes. Running game, yes. But you'll have to be able to pass better to advance in the post-season. Baltimore is too one-dimensional as currently constituted to do more than win a 1st round game.

but DJ...all favoritism aside, which team do you think is better? one on one you may have their number, but do u really expect the ravens to be more successful?

How have the balanced Steeler's offense faired in the playoffs the last few years? They made the playoffs twice, and won only one game each time.

Big Ben and the boys still had to drive to score the go ahead points, so I don't see a gift anywhere in there. The one gift I did see in that game was the free 1 second the Dallas clock operator gave the Cowboys at the end to allow them one last shot at the endzone. Steelers stopped it anyway.

Against the Steelers?

The Ravens have the fewest point scored against them in the league. They can stop the run, stop the pass, and beat up the QB. Pittsburgh is also great at all of that. They are both running teams with quarterbacks who are told simply to not lose the game.

The thing is, there is a lot of time between now and when the two play again. Both Boller and Roethesberger have improved steadly as the season has progressed. The Steelers have the two advantages named Ward and Burres, which have likely been the difference between Boller's numbers and Big Ben's, but the Ravens receivers are starting to show up (make sure that you remember the name Clarence Moore).

When they play again, it will be an absolute streetfight. I think it would be basically even as to who will win.

No, because the Cowboys still had ample chance to prevent the go ahead score. And even with the go ahead score, they still had their chance to win it in the end. Steelers made the plays, Cowboys did not.
