TFP Football Pool Week #10
Week number 10. What exactly qualifies as a wining streak? Earlier this year Houston had it’s first winning streak in franchise history - two in a row. Now I don’t want to downplay their achievement, but it takes more than two beers to fail a breathalyzer. Two is not a winning streak. Three is pushing it in my mind, since you can end up with a favorable schedule and play a couple of rebuilding teams in a row and get lucky (see Seahawks, Seattle). I feel as though you need to have at least four wins in order for it to be a winning streak. At this point, only eight teams should be able to claim a winning streak - and to be honest, I would love to disqualify at least three of them. So how does it help you with this week’s picks, it doesn’t - I just needed to practice my sports columnist skills. /end of rant. Ok, make your picks, don’t hesitate, don’t be indecisive, don’t miss any. Oh, and don’t worry, you’re going to be wrong on most of them, you were last week and the week before, why should it change now?
TFP Football Pool rules: 1. Pick one team from each game to win the game. If they win, you get one point. Ties count as a loss. The most points win. (Points spreads are not included, so therefore they do not matter. “Just win, Baby” - Al Davis) 2. After all games are picked, give a point total for the total points scored in the Monday night football game. This is used as a tie breaker. The closest, without going over will break the tie. If all tied go over, the closest wins. 3. Have your picks in before the first kickoff. The thread will be closed at some point after midnight EST the night before the first game. (Thank you Spectre.) Don't be late - PM's after the thread is closed will not count. For convenience purposes please only list the winning team name. You should copy and delete from the schedule provided. PLEASE KEEP THE GAMES/TEAMS IN THE ORDER THEY ARE LISTED BELOW! Thank you, and good luck. Week #10 Team (2004 record, 2004 road/home record) Sunday November 14, 2004 Baltimore (3-5, 0-3 road) NY Jets (6-2, 4-0 home) Detroit (4-4, 3-1 road) Jacksonville (5-3, 2-1 home) Kansas City (3-5, 1-3 road) New Orleans (3-5, 1-3 home) Seattle (5-3, 3-2 road) St. Louis (4-4, 2-2 home) Chicago (3-5, 2-2 road) Tennessee (3-5, 1-3 home) Houston (4-4, 2-2 road) Indianapolis (5-3, 3-1 home) Pittsburgh (7-1, 2-1 road) Cleveland (3-5, 3-1 home) Tampa Bay (3-5, 1-3 road) Atlanta (6-2, 3-1 home) Cincinnati (3-5, 0-4 road) Washington (3-5, 1-3 home) Carolina (1-7, 1-3 road) San Francisco (1-7, 1-3 home) NY Giants (5-3, 3-1 road) Arizona (3-5, 2-1 home) Minnesota (5-3, 2-2 road) Green Bay (4-4, 1-3 home) Buffalo (3-5, 0-3 road) New England (7-1, 4-0 home) Monday November 15, 2004 Philadelphia (7-1, 3-1 road) Dallas (3-5, 2-2 home) This weeks prize: An outhouse. Why an outhouse you ask? Because we are passed the halfway mark and there are only about five true playoff teams out there, the rest are a few “good” plays away from the first pick in the draft. So an outhouse is where most of these teams belong. /end of second rant. |
