All I was thinking was "All they have to do is get by Ortiz and Wakefield will fold in the next inning."
And they couldn't. I tell you, it used to be Manny, but Ortiz is officially the new Scariest Red Sock. I was worried every time he came to bat tonight. And will continue to be until this series is over. And probably next year too. Good game, Boston. You guys have some heart. Game 6 in roughly 21 hours. Get ready. |

I'm from Baltimore so I'm no fan of the Yankees by default. I can appreciate what a great organization they've put together even though it was for an astronomical price. I'm a big fan of baseball in general and enjoy the players. Jeter is the shit and A-Rod is a good guy as well. Being from Baltimore, I'm already a big fan of Moose so there are players I really like from the Yankees. I was popping rolaids last night like there was no tomorrow. I am pulling for the Red Sox just because they're so mired in this self-fulfilling losing prophecy. I wouldn't bet against the Yankees in this series but what would be a more fitting way for the Boston to finally beat the Yankees and then the World Series. One couldn't script it any better. Excellent games thus far... and GREAT for baseball.

oh man oh man.. my heart was in my throat the entire game. (it usually is during this time of year) the game was great..now if I could only make Damon get a couple hits. How fitting was it that Wakefield ended up with the win. Especially after the heartbreak of last year. He should've been the MVP last year and that Aaron F'in Boone ruined it. He got his redemption last night. I was glad when the yanks put "batting practice" Louiza (sp?) in the game. He pitched better than I thought he would but he eventually gave up the walks and hit. Ortiz is the shit. I just hope we get to game 7 and make it even more exciting!!
