are we any type of powerhouse in lacrosse? i've seen the lacrosse league on espn, but never thought about it on a national scale. are other countries scared of us in lacrosse? just curious.

I think its more of a north american sport. Didn't the natives play it on mile long fields and used a tall post as the goal? Lacrosse is more popular up north anyway. The only thing that comes close here is womens college lacrosse.

its more of an eastern north america thing, but it is starting to gain momentum in the western parts, there are 2 pro leagues the National lacrosse league (www.nll.com) and Major League lacrosse (www.majorleaguelacrosse.com). Canada as in hockey is still the stronger of the 2 countries but not by much.

Colorado Mammoth do a good job of selling out the Pepsi Center during regular season, I won't be surprised if Denver gets an outdoor lacrosse team in the next season or two.

Same here. I live in the Chicagoland area. My boys got into the sport about 5 years ago. It slowly gaining popularity here. We're working towards getting it officially recognized by the high school sports association. It's a fun game to watch and a hell of a game to play.

The US is better in outdoor than indoor. I think they're the reigning World Champs, although, that's not saying much since only a handful of countries play the sport. It did start as a North American Indian game and some of the games were played over several days.
