no6. UVA vs. no7. FSU
Who's looking foward to this game? Its a huge game for both teams, but around Tallahassee people just don't seem that amped up for it. Maybe that will change come saturday. I mean this is a potential ACC rivalry that will be with us for years to come. UVA wants to get on top, where Florida State has been for years. If FSU looses then they will be at best 3rd in the conference they used to dominate, but if they win, then the doors are open for anything to happen. Remember 2000? FSU beat miami and ended up in the National championship game against the sooners. If FSU wins this week and miami looses to UVA, then who knows what will happen. I'm just wondering if anyone is a psyched up for this game as I am. Its going to be a barn-burner.

I am definately excited for this game. I hate FSU, and went to high school in VA. Honestly, with my biased opinion aside, FSU has played like shit this year. They arent what they used to be, and UVA has been playing pretty good. I truly dont think FSU can come any where near UVA. But, I have been wrong many times before, and a big upset is always exciting.
Either way, I am sure both teams will play with more intesity than they have all season. |

I'm ready for the game.. I'm just worried about who the starting QB for FSU will be. I hate Chris Rix with a passion. He's the worst decision maker I've ever seen at the school. Why oh why can't we get another Charlie Ward? I think FSU will pull it out with defense late in the 3rd quarter.

Maryland's gonna beat them both anyway, so it doesn't matter.

I don't think we've lost to the Yahoos since Friedgen came back, and we're due to beat FSU SOMETIME, so that's why.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO AMPED for this game Saturday night!! If someone else wouldn't have started this thread I probably would have.
I've got faith that my Hoooooooos will pull this one off. Even if it is at Doak Campbell on ESPN. They'll get it - they've been way too dominant so far this year to not pull this one off. Hagans has one of the best passer ratings in the nation, Wali Lundy is tied for most touchdowns with 10, and their defense has been stifling. I just don't see Sexton being able to get past this defense... not if Charlie Whitehurst couldn't... he's a much better QB than Sexton IMO. Whichever team wins is lookin good - I think Miami will drop a few spots after their brush with death Thursday night.

I am really hoping UVa pulls this one out. I believe they will but have learned over the years not to ever count on anything, either with FSU or with UVa. The Cavs seem to lose a game or two every year that they should win and FSU just seems to have nine lives, surviving almost everyone but Miami.
Just looking at what the two teams have done against common opponents this year, UVa would seem to have the advantage though. They pretty much handled both Clemson and Syracuse while FSU gave up a bunch of points to Clemson and struggled greatly against Syracuse. I believe the question in this game is whether the FSU defense can stop the Cavs offense. I just don't see FSU putting up a lot of points against a Wahoo defense that has been amazing this year. The key then becomes the Noles forcing turnovers to give their sad offense a short field to work with. Go Hoos!!!

WOW! UVA got their ass kicked! They looked like they had no clue what the hell they were doing. Florida State was definately on tonight. If they played like that all season I would say they are a definate contender for the championship. Unfortunately they just arent very consistent yet. The Cavs should drop substantially in the polls for such a poor performance.

I didn't even see that one coming! UVA couldn't do anything. I don't even know if they had 30 rushing yards. FSU's defense was dominant and showed the country everything they're worth tonight.
Like my bumper sticker says, "Wyatt 4 Heisman!" That boy is good. He has everything he needs in this offensive system and he doesn't make the stupid mistakes Rix does. I think we've ushered in a new era folks. It's Sexton's time. |

They had 80 yards rushing when it was still 5-0, from what ESPN Gamecast said...
/shrug I was pretty disappointed, all things considered. That made me frown lots. Although, UVA could still pull out an ACC win, possibly - they HAVE to beat Miami to have a shot at it though.

Yeah, I was very disappointed as well. I know it will sound like sour grapes but I am real tired of FSU seeming to find the solution to it's problems every year just before playing UVa. I'm not sure that game goes the same way if Rix is still the QB. Sexton looked damn good and made no mistakes, which you can count on Rix to do. Miami should be very happy they got FSU early.
