Is your baseball team in the playoffs?
I'm a Phillies fan, and they should be in the playoffs, given their off-season acquisitions and talent, but in typical fashion they choked and missed out. I also like the Royals, and they choked even harder, breaking that 100 loss barrier.
So now the playoffs have started, and I'm excited to watch them, but it just feels kind of empty because a team I follow isn't in them.. Has your team made the playoffs, and if not, are you still able to enjoy watching the games, or don't you care anymore? Let's try not to turn this into a "baseball sucks" thread. If you aren't watching the playoffs because you think baseball sucks, and not because your team isn't in it, then that isn't really relevant to this thread. |

No. My team sucks. :P. Actually, we're just frequent users of the phrase: "Wait till next year..next year's the year!". We may actually take your manager off your hands. . Gotta love the Mets.
I did pick a team I preferrably like in the regular season to be a team I'm rooting for in the offseason and that is the Boston Red Sox. Maybe it's the Mets fan in me that's saying to root for the Yankees' rivals and whoever's against them but I've always had a deep love for the Sox. And need I say it, the 1986 world series was very hard on me (I was only 4) , but I took the side of the Mets. |

I'm a Yankee fan, so yes they are in. They don't look like they'll win it. My money is on St. Louis. I told people early on that the cardinals would be there at the end, vs. the Yankees. Let's just see how this plays out.

RED SOX!!!
They're just in a groove right now and it doesn't look like anyone is going to stop them. Anaheim was one of the hottest teams down the stretch and the Sox are making them look like a non-contender. I'd love to see a rematch of the '67 World Series with the Cards and Sox. That would be a battle of epic proportions; 7 games, easy. |

I'm a Braves fan. They pulled out a win last night to even their seires 1-1.
Honestly though, I've become a piss poor fan. Haven't watched many games the past year. But I'll tune into playoff baseball Looking forward to Red Sox vs. Yankees. I'm hoping for a Braves vs. Red Sox series.

I've been a diehard Dodgers fan since the '77 WS.
Even though they will probably make a very early exit, I'm just glad they won the west and made it to the playoffs. If they could get some pitching this offseason, I expect them to do better next year.

Go Cardinals!
They got it done again last night. Sorry Hal, but it looks like my Redbirds are gonna make easy work out of your Dodgers.

For chrissakes, don't jinx it!!!
Especially with Morris pitching on Saturday. Matty Mo has been off and on again these last few months, mostly off and if ever there was a comeback team in these playoffs it's the Dodgers.

Nope!
The Mariners are not in playoffs, they don't have a manager, and don't have half the team that they started with in April. Talk about a rebuilding year!

For the 13th straight time, yes!
I've been a Braves fan since they truly and utterly SUCKED. Actually, I think I came out of the womb with a Braves hat on... :P Dale Murphy is my favorite all time player, and a great guy to boot. But... yeah. GO BRAVOS against Houston tomorrow - Houston had their chance today and absolutely blew it due to poor management. Hopefully we can just play some better baseball than they do in Game 5.

Huzzah!
I took a vow of silence until my beloved Astros exorcised the demons, which most often took the form of the Atlanta Braves. I consider the season a resounding success. I am so pleased even if my pleasure brings Averett pain. One of many great weights has been lifted from my shoulders. -GH |
