Close Encounters of the Wunderkind
Have any of you TFP'ers played against someone athletically that ended up making it big?
Here in Oklahoma, we play a damn good brand of prep football. I've played against Wes Welker (Texas Tech, San Diego Chargers) and Teddy Lehman (OU, Detroit Lions) and many players that have started for OU, OSU, Tulsa, Notre Dame and other big D1 programs. Most of the standout guys that I played against in high school are still in the college ranks... but some of them have moved on the NFL or other pro leagues. It's weird to think those guys I watched on scout films and played against on some windy oklahoma high school field are now playing in front of millions all over the world. Coming from a state without major pro-teams within our borders, it's a source of pride to see local athletes make it big. I know some of you have played with/against todays pro's... any good stories to tell?
