Favorite or most original college mascot?
 

Me being from the great "Land of Opportunity", I will have to go with the Arkansas Razorbacks....theres nothing else quite like'em. Wooooooooo Pig Soooooie!

Also theres the "Fighting Okra" of Delta State in Mississippi. That's pretty cool.

There's nothing better than some of the great small college mascots and the history behind them.

Brutus Buckeye. He's an original.
What about the Musketeers of West Virginia? Their mascot actually carries a weapon.

The most famous mascot job belongs to the Notre Dame guy though. He gets more airtime then the special teams guys.

Funny how great college mascots are. They actually represent something. Then you have pro-baseball mascots. What a waste (other than the Milwalkee guy, he's cool).

The expos mascot. YUOPPI or something like that. he's original. i dont even know what he is.

The San Antonio spurs mascot is a coyote. I always find that weird.

I don't really have a favorite, the teams I'm a fan of don't NEED mascots. Can you imagine a Yankees mascot? I do however, HATE Mr. Met and Sparky, the New York Islanders mascot. Sparky actually is the mascot of the New York Dragons, an ARENA LEAGUE FOOTBALL TEAM. He just changes colors and jerseys for hockey season. Completely cheesy. But then, so are the Islanders.

I was at that game. I sympathized.

VirFighter, didn't know there were any Yellow Jackets in here other than myself. And yes, he is the best mascot around - even if our basketball and football teams just quit on him . . .

University of Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, the mascot's name is Seymour.

He was in the running last year for the top college football mascot, came in the top 10 I think.

The fact that I will grad. from USM in August has nothing to do with my decision though.

heres some team nicknames from california, they are kinda wierd

university of california, irvine = anteaters
i think in is uc santa barbara, they are the banana slugs
the jr. college i go to is the mt. sac mounties. (a mounty is the canadian policeman on a horse)

The Ragin' Cajuns of the University of Louisiana-Lafayette has gotta be up there in terms of awesome.

And although it's not their official mascot, Dartmouth unveiled Keggy the Dartmouth Keg recently.

I believe there is a minor league baseball team that uses a flying squarrel...

Don't know what a Hoya is, but I think it's short for Hoya Saxa, some Greek or Latin phrase, at leat I've seen buttons and Tshirts there that say that, and that was the best explanation I got.
