Clyde "The Glide" Drexler looking to come out of retirement

He's saying he might play for the Nuggets under his former teammate Kiki V. His peers say he is still physically fit to be a solid contributor, and he only wants to play 20 minutes per off the bench anyways.

What do you all think about this?

I remember Clyde Drexler being in old school video games back in the day... That is all I remember about him, but if he wants to come back and can earn a roster spot, more power to him.

i HATE how professional players always come out of retirement. i know that isn't true for all athletes, but many do. once you retire, you should have to stay retired!!!!!!!!!

Then you must love Dana Barros. He came out of retirement this past season to play 11 minutes in one game and scored six points for Boston.

let's see: 11 minutes of work at the nba of $1,500,000/year = $136,363/minute (that was his salary in 2002, i couldn't find it for last year)

i want to come out of retirement!!!!!

that's exactly what i mean by players coming out of retirement just to do it or just for the money or attention.

If Drexler comes out of retirement, what does that do to his Hall of Fame status? (You have to be retired for at least five years before you can be considered for the Hall). Is it temporarily suspended?

I think Drexler would probably be a great player/coach, and it would certainly shore up the Nuggets 2 position. But, then again, he is 122 years old, and probably wouldn't make it through an entire season.

Sounds like he's just trying to build buzz for his new book. You might be able to come back in your late 30s but the man is frickin 42 and hasn't been in a NBA game in over a half decade.

the guy would be a perfect player coach like avery johnson and probly has a lot of moves left in him if he's in shape at all. just imagine him showing his tricks to kenyon martin and carmelo and you'll be drooling. *i purposefully left out marcus camby there*
