SEC Football Discussion
In hopes of going beyond AOL-Speak (LSU sux, or Vandy rulz), my hopes are to create a thread for both entertaining AND informative discussion of SEC football.
This thread has the potential to go completely BUST, but I'll take a chance anyway. BTW, I searched, and there's not one like it yet. Alabama - started sloppy against Ole Miss, but managed to completely overwhelm them eventually. I was surprised to see Alabama come out throwing, because Ole Miss would have been a good team to establish a running game against. Alabama could be very well undefeated by the Tennessee game. Arkansas - Should have beaten Texas. My God, did Matt Jones bet on Texas? Any team with Arkansas on the schedule should have learned a lot from watching that game. Auburn - Carnell and Ronnie, what else is there to say? MSU was in way over their heads, and I don't think Auburn has completely unveiled the new offense yet. Next week against LSU will be a different game, though. Why do Auburn receivers drop so many passes? Florida - I didn't see any clips, so I can't say anything informative. Georgia - Should have lost to South Carolina, but those dawgs never gave up. Games like this mean a lot later on in the season when bigger games are on the line. Kentucky - Did not play. LSU - Too busy hanging Championship banners in the first week, but finally managed to play as expected in the second week. The big test comes next week in Auburn. Unless that QB situation is fixed, LSU is in trouble early. Mississippi - Life after Eli, week 2. MSU - The talent level at MSU is just too pitiful for them to play well against anybody. They have a long way to go, and need to go ahead and circle the Ole Miss game as the only meaningful game left on the schedule. South Carolina - Should have really beaten Georgia, but fell victim to self-fulfilling prophecy. I hate to say Bill Curry was right, but South Carolina players and fans simply expected Georgia to come back on them, and they did. Tennessee - Did not play. Vandy - Did not play. If the SEC Championship Game were played today, and if it were based on quality of play so far, it would be Auburn vs Georgia.
