GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh baby!!! its a been a while since i have been excited about my beloved vols at the quarterback position. Tee Martin was ok because he led us to a national championship. and Clausen was good enough to keep us in the rankings. but neither of them illicited the kind of excitement i got watching true freshmen brent schaeffer and erik ainge make unlv look like a practice squad. surely, thier true tests will come in two weeks against florida, but man...with these guys...there is no doubt that the vols are back baby!!!!!!!!

Well, I just thought this thread needed a little revival. God knows the UT quarterbacks and cornerbacks need one.
Actually, it was a great atmosphere and hard-fought game. Tennessee never gave up, and no Auburn fan with even half a brain should have the nerve to talk smack in early October. Now, all you Vols have to do is beat Georgia and mop up the field with Alabama, and I'll feel REALLY good.

The way we played against Auburn, I was not impressed at all. If we play the same against Georgia, we'll be annihilated. I was not impressed with our freshman quarterbacks this game, way too many turnovers.

This same reasoning has now been applied to Auburn; if Auburn wins big, it's because their opponents weren't really that good after all. Therefore, I and thousands of other Auburn fans are praying mightily for you Vols to beat the snot out of Georgia on Saturday. PLEASE! Whip those doggies' butts.

I don't know if y'all saw, but an article on espn.com said that Rosegreen (the guy who picked Ainge 4 times) told his def. coord. early in the game that he could tell where Ainge was going to throw the ball. If this is true, UT will have an awful lot of trouble against UGA, since the Bulldogs defense is really good too.
As another Auburn fan, I'd also like to say "Please win Tennessee!!!" |

Way to go, Vols!!
The Auburn-La. Tech game finished up just as UT-GA was heading into the fourth quarter. As all of us Auburn fans went streaming through the tailgate areas towards our cars, we encountered dozens of tents each surrounded by dozens of Auburn fans watching the UT-GA finish on the TV's at these tents. Nobody went to their cars. It was the most amazing experience to watch all these thousands of Auburn fans cheering and moaning and oooh-ahhing each play all over the areas outside the stadium. Finally, when Georgia died on that last play, the cheers went up and the thousands headed to Toomer's Corner and rolled it; just a special one for you Vols.

Is it true that Tennessee has a quarterback named Jim Bob Cooter? If so, I'd start him just because of his name. (According to a caption on the the SI website they do just so no one thinks I'm making fun of them.)
Also, can anyone that listens to UT's pregrame show tell me if Coach Billy Joe Tom Bob Parker is still coaching the Fightin' Possums of Tuscaloosa Tech. I graduated from Tennessee in 1988 and moved away so I haven't been able to keep up with him. That was a long time ago so I'd guess he is probably gone now. |

Yeah, there is a player on the Volunteers called Jim Bob Cooter, and yes, he's from Tennessee.

Not really a UGA or Vols fan ( I live in Seattle) but after watching that game, I gotta tell ya, UGA was robbed by the ref's. UGA had two touchdowns that were denied due to terrible calls. Calls so bad I would look to see if any large sums of money were recently deposited in any of the ref's bank accounts. Of course just my two cents

next up...BAMA...sans Brody Croyle. Still will be a great game...
also...Vols coming in at #9 in the BCS...winning out and getting a few of those fakers above us to drop a late season game could put us in position for a very nice bowl. hopefully against an acc team again...we have two years of bowl embarrasment revenge to exact on that poor team. GO VOLS!!!!!!!! GO SOX!!!!!!! |

Fairly surprised that Fulmer made it out of the stadium without being killed by an Alabama fan a couple of weeks ago.
I don't think the vols quite have talent as a couple of the teams in front of them. However, I see them winning out their remaining games and having no trouble with Notre Dame. Will be interesting to see what happens when Auburn meets Georgia and then results SEC championship game. As much as I hate Auburn, it would be nice for an SEC team to bring home the NC again. |

Looks like Brent Schaeffer (Our Michael Vick-type freshman QB) will be out of commission for close to 6 weeks with a broken collarbone.

I go to UKentucky, but hey, I gotta cheer for the Vols this year, due to the me being a Bengals fan and the Munoz connection (oh, and the fact that UK absolutely sucks ass). Would it not be awesome to see Munoz go to Cincy next year???
