How about them Reds?!?
Ahhh...I love baseball. Especially when the Reds are winning. :D
I finally made it down to the new ballpark last Tuesday. Great place to watch games, and I got to see Larkin's game winning homer. I've been a Reds fan for years, and I am very happy to see them at the .500 mark (19-19) again. I love the current team, and the pitching is starting to come together, sort of... Any other comments, about the Reds and baseball in general? |
Yeah -- I used to date a girl who went to Univ. of Richmond, where Sean Casey went to school. Did a lot of partying with that guy. Easy going and down to earth. Saw him a couple of years ago after a game in Phili. Still the same old guy. Its great to see not everyone gets caught up in the pro sports hype.

Casey is definitely one of my favorite players, period. He has always seemed like the down-to-earth good guy type. The whole city loves him.
Bob Boone made a comment about "the bounce" that they od after home wins that you have to look out for Casey, cause he just gets a bit excited...heh. |
They have the offense but not the pitching to do anything in the Central.
They will finish 4th behind the Cardinals, Astros and Cubs. Art |
I cant wait to get up to Great American. Its been a good season from the sounds of it. I just wished we got coverage down here in Louisville. But we do have the Bats.
Its gonna be tough when Griff gets back because the outfield is so damned loaded. Dunn is gonna be the next Barry Bonds. |
Austin Kearns is from Lexington so of course I've gotta support them. If their pitching comes together I'd say they're playoff contenders as they obviously have the bats.

I am going to see Cinci play my Cleveland Indians (interleague)this summer. The cool thing is that the game I am going to coincides with Ohios Bicentenial so there will be some festivities.
Its at Cleveland, can't wait to see the new stadium, though! And, uh, the second-worst ERA in the league belongs to Cinci. The Reds need to part with Griffey for a big-time young pitcher or two. Then we'll talk about contending. |
Well, the pitching is starting to look respectable...Graves just pitched a complete game shutout, and Kearns hit yet another HR. But it is still only May, so hopefully things will continue to go well.
|
If Kearns and Dunn arent All Stars, somebody is smoking something. These kids are gonna be great. Just imagine the HR Derby with them.
