So the Yanks get a new stadium.....
I heard on the radio (Mike Trisonno 1100WTAM in Cleveland) that because of the way the "revenue sharing Tax" structure is in baseball, if the Yankees pay privately to build their own stadium they don't have to pay into the revenue sharing. And won't have to worry about paying the over the cap tax.
Now that seems fair BUT there are some teams that desperately need that money to get or keep a star FA (or even an Arby eligible player) to get fans to make money to be able to field a decent team. While other teams like the Red Sox, Cubs and so on still will have to worry about the tax and paying their share for going over the cap. So basically the Yankees found a way to keep other teams from being able to compete while they build their new stadium. King fucking George is a genius at destroying the game and claiming the other owners can do what he did (return a loss making team into a dynasty). Fucking amazing he'll get away with this. Selig and the other owners need to wake the fuck up and correct the problem and do something fast before interest is totally gone and they have no fans in the stands.

My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?" |

That is an article about the new stadium. I like the plan: basically build a slightly smaller version of Yankee Stadium next door to the original. The site is a park, so the team will pay to create new parks elsewhere to compensate. The rule about writing off the financing, however, is simply stupid. More then likely it was put in place to give teams a reason to self-finance stadiums instead of holding cities hostage, but it solves that problem while creating one just as bad. Who want's to be my lieutenant in the coup I'm leading?
