Tim Brown leaving the Raiders :(
It is a dark day in the NFL. Timmy Brown has decided it is time to leave the silver and black. Im just hoping he doesnt end up going to the Cheifs, that would really be depressing. Either way though, it has been a great 16 seasons and I wish the best for him. He will always be one of the Raider greats. Good luck Timmy, you will be missed.

He'd likely go to a team that would really want him and have him as a 1 or 2 receiver.
Like Philly... *Goes to pray to the football gods*

There is also talk of his re-uniting with his old coach and general manager in Tampa.
He would be a great veteran leader on offense.

Tim Brown is not fast enough or good enough anymore to be a 1 or 2 receiver on any team. He's just not. You saw how slow aging recievers just get tooled by quick, strong defenses.
I'm sorry, he's just not. One of the greatest of all time? IMO yes, you can probably make a case for him ... But he's not young, he's aging, and he's absolutley on the downside of his career. Sucks, but at some point you've just got to say, Hey, I don't have it anymore. |

Hey, he can CATCH, and that's a major improvement over the Eagles receiving core last year.
Dave, from the press conference, it sounds as if Brown wants to retire a Raider, just he would like to have a bigger role in an offense this year.

The Ravens have said they have no interest, so you KNOW he isn't good anough anymore
Seriously though, he is too slow. You have to have at least the ability to run faster then the offensive linemen if you are going to play.

I'd like to see the Broncos have a go at him. With only Rod Smith as a veteran receiver, I think he'd offer valuable wisdom to Lelie and the young, unproven receiving core.
He'd probably be the number 3 man though, which I'm not sure he's willing to accept.

Great news. Tim Brown is a Buccaneer.
Joey Galloway, Tim Brown, and Keenan McCardell if he ends his holdout for more money. No.1 draft pick Michael Clayton (LSU) as the number 3 or 4. Brown played under Gruden for four years and had outstanding seasons. He hasn't had good stats since Gruden left and especially last year when Rich Gannon was out for most of the season. He already knows Gruden's offense and will really help Clayton to learn the offense. The Bucs play the teams from the AFC west this year too so his knowledge of those defenses will help everyone. I'm telling you guys, the Bucs are the sleeper team this year. Nobody is picking them to do anything but they have a better offense line and their defense is faster than in their Super Bowl season. Their only problem is that they play in the strongest division in the NFL, the NFC south. Tampa, Carolina, Atlanta, New Orleans. Not an easy conference game in there, for anybody. Go Bucs !!!
