Sad story. I can't cut and paste on this work machine, as it screws up everytime. But none the less, this is terrible. =( |

Despite the hate between team fans, individual players in baseball are respectable people. They are brothers on their team and they look out for players on the other team if they get hurt. That said, despite my utter dislike for the Yankees, I cant help but root for Jason to get through this.

It would seem that the MFYs are running into a bit of baseball karma. Giambi with parasites, RJ not being able to go to NYC due to the MFYs' minor league system, and the $60M starting rotation sitting on the bench. I'd love to see this version of the MFYs in the playoffs against the Red Sox and watch Pedro and Curt shut them down.

I know my view isn't popular but I could care less about him. He's a druggy and he cheats on his wife... I have no respect for that. He's not going to die, he'll just miss some baseball for a while... no big deal.

Their rotation will be fine too. They have 6 decent guys and they will all be back in October after they win the division by trotting out a series of hacks to take turns before Brown and Moose are back. I hope Giambi will be fine, but I am afraid about the rumors that will start now. He does not need any help at this point between steriods, this health problem and anything else that someone infers from the discription on the CDC website.

Supposedly the DBacks and Dodgers had a deal for RJ in place. RJ for Mota and Werth plus pitching prospects Chad Billingsley (A ball) and Chuck Tiffany (A ball). They also had a variation that would have sent Lo Duca to AZ also. In the end, RJ wouldn't lift his no trade clause.
This would have been a pretty good deal for AZ. Lo Duca may be playing way over his head but a catcher who can it is a great thing to have. Billingsley is lighting it up in the minors. If RJ only wants to go to the Yanks, he'll remain a DBack. The DBacks are also talking to the Dodgers about Finley. Fins said he'll only go if he gets to remain a CF and I'm not sure is psycho boy Bradley would be happy about that. Last edited by kutulu; 07-28-2004 at 03:20 PM.. |
