I take it back. there is federer, and there is everyone else
I really thought Andy was going to win today, but everytime he needed to, Roger found another level... I think the fact is if Federer plays at his best no player on the tour can touch him... Hewitt and Roddick are the only one's at Wimbledon who even made him look human... I dont see any other player (except JC Ferroro on clay) who can realistically challenge for the big honors against Federer right now,,, either federer wins or loses, but it at the moment it seems always about him and never the opponents, they are just fighting for the scraps he leaves (again, with the exception of Ferroro on clay)

I thought that Andy could have easily beat him if he would have won the second set (which he almost did) I was cheering for Federer the entire game, and I have to say that Rodick did give him a run for his money, and certainly made him look human at times. It was a good game, and as I said before, i believe it could have gone eitherway. Federer just played better as a whole.

Andy R made a valliant effort but in the end I agree with Strange Famous....Federer was just way too much today. It was improbable that Andy R would have even made a game of the second set after getting down 4 - 0 and I was as shocked as anyone when he tied it at 4 - 4. When he lost the set you could see that he'd spent so much to get back in that one that it wasn't going to bode well for him for the rest of the match.
Kudos to Federer for playing outstanding tennis today! |
i fell asleep just after Andy drew level at 4-4 in the second set... at that point i figured Andy would probably take it out... but when i woke up, Federer had won...
i'm hanging out for the replay. |
Um.. wasnt this a known fact?... I watched most of the match, and even tho Roddick looked like he could have pulled ahead, Federer just never ceased to amaze me with his level of skill and ability... I could see the difference when during the 3rd and 4th set, Roddick looked like he could have been swimming in his clothes, while Federer barely broke a sweat...
If Roddick can condition his body the way he improved his fitness from last year... He may have a chance next year... Like Roddick said in the interview afterwards.. it can be a rivalry after he starts winning a few :D |
I agree. This guy is amazingly dominating. Unbelievable talent. He makes everything look soooooo easy and stays super calm. I'm looking forward to seeing his career progress 'cause I think he's gonna be one of those special players that only comes along once in a while. We'll see if he can keep it up. The test of time will be his measuring stick.
