I had my rivalry played out well too. Giants vs Dodgers. Lead changes all over the game. Finally, 4-5 in the 9th, Gagne comes in to strike out the side. Ahh... sweet victory.

getting out of the bases loaded jam w/ no outs... A-Rod's "triple-play" double play.. and when Jeter dove into the stands after making that catch and getting up bloodied, I thought to myself, THATS why the Yankees will never even THINK of trading Jeter, compared to what Boston and Nomar are doing to each other.
Manny's HR, and then the clutch 2-out single, double, double by Sierra, Cairo and Flaherty.. wow.. I'll never forget it

It was a great series, and I thought Sheffield's at-bat where he fouled off about 8 or 10 pitches and eventually hit the grounder through third was going to be the best play this series. Wow, was I off or what?

The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

Yep definitely a great game.
Disagree about the Yanks dealing Jeter though. They will as soon as it suits their needs. I'd have to say it's the best rivalry in any pro sport (here in the US at least) but then I'm a Red Sox fan so I may be a bit biased. The only thing that could make the rivalry better would be a World Series between the two. Now that would be insane.

Insane because it's impossible...
And the Yanks won't deal Jeter unless he stays far past his years. If he leaves the Yanks, it will be because he wants to.

I am still horse! Those games were unreal! Holy crap!
I think I figured out a way for the Sox to reverse the curse of Ruth BTW.....They have to have the Yankees trade...no... sell Jeter to them. I think that would do it. Bwa ha ha ha ha!

Do you guys really believe that Steinbrenner wouldn't trade Jeter if it improved his shot at another Championship? If yes, then I'm amazed. Steinbrenner only cares about winning. The people and personalities that go along with it are way down the list of importance.

Amazing bit of trivia about George, before he bought the Yankees, he tried to buy the Indians but Stouffer took Steve O'Neill's offer. So George bought the yankees and took Gabe Paul from Cleveland that ended up in their getting many Cleveland prospects (Nettles, Chamblis, Pinella, and so on) for chump change. Ah, just think what George could have done in Cleveland.
