which of these pitchers would you drop?
Hi,
I have to make room for Pettite to come back tomorrow. I am at a loss of which pitcher to drop, Sabathia is hurt but i think he will be ok and is great for my era. Leiter, well even though he is one of my bottom 3 pitchers, i like him Buhrle ptches tomorrow as for my 4 releivers, in the league Im in in order to be competitive you have to have 4 closers. so who do I drop, these are my pitchers. M. Prior (ChC - SP) A. Leiter (NYM - SP) C. Sabathia (Cle - SP) R. Clemens (Hou - SP) M. Mulder (Oak - SP) M. Buehrle (CWS - SP) A. Pettitte (Hou - SP) E. Guardado (Sea - RP) D. Kolb (Mil - RP) E. Gagne (LA - RP) T. Hoffman (SD - RP) Thanks

1st rule: never drop a closer, even if they suck as bad as Shawn Chacon in Colorado.
I'd drop Leiter, if I were you. Then again, Mulder might be done for a while with the seperated shoulder. Or, try to make a trade and fill a gap on offense by sending Leiter or Pettitte. I'd drop Leiter. If he stays with the Mets all year, he won't be as valuable as Pettitte. |

Drop CC he's got a bum shoulder. Cleveland press is really trying to play it down but I think he'll be DL'd soon and his season ended. He just has been overused and is pitching over his head. Trying to hard to maintain his luck and blowing his shoulder out.

Do you have to activate Pettite right away? If not, I'd say keep him dl'ed for a start or two to make sure his is fully healthy.
Once you do activate him, I'd drop CC. He's going on the DL sometime soon. I noticed you have 7 starting pitchers. Is there a maximum innings in your league? If there is, you're going to overshoot it by a lot. I'd trade CC and Leiter to stay under the limit. |

Well, it is a very competitive league, but we agreed when setting up the league not to have an inning max, so it is set for th e most innings you can have.
As for C.C and Leiter they really have helped my league with their era s. As for Leiter Im a met fan, its hard to drop him. C.C yea im worried about him. In my league you have to pay for add drops but I did somethign kind of un orthodox, I dropped c. c last night so Buehrle can pitch today then I dropped buehrle and re picked up c. c. Buhrle is so all over the place and i don t think he is dependable. I ve been in first place now since may, so my team is doing pretty good, actually im in first place in both of my leqagues As for trading pitchers, its kind of hard to trade in my league everyone is so greedy. As for pettite, he is pitching today, im gambling with him. By the way it is a 20 position league 10 teams which leave me with 9 hitters and a bench plus 10 pitchers so Im kind of pitching heavy , but it has worked for me. But now my team is going to suffer a little i think. I have vernon wells who is DL but I still have 10 batters do to picking up a hitter to replace him while he is dl. I also have both Mora and Casey who are both injured ( well kind of) shoot here is my hitters . J. Posada (NYY - C) D. Lee (ChC - 1B) A. Soriano (Tex - 2B) M. Mora (Bal - 3B,LF) J. Wilson (Pit - SS) S. Podsednik (Mil - CF S. Finley (Ari - CF) K. Griffey Jr. (Cin - CF) S. Hillenbrand (Ari - 1B,3B) S. Casey (Cin - 1B) V. WellsDL (Tor - CF) plus the pitching that is listed above. I try to keep my team as balanced as much as possible We have a lot of stats ( no where as near as much as the TFP league i'm in but we have a lot positions C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL stats R, H, HR, RBI, SB, K, E, AVG, W, L, SV, HR, BB, K, ERA, WHIP It is so hard to determine who to drop due to only 20 man roster. I hope I didnt mess up dropping Buhrle Thanks for the input

Drop Buehrle hell i just did today... Your right he is all over the place. Nothing pisses me off more in fantasy than inconsistency.
All you saying drop Leiter are nuts hes been sick this year so hold on to him unless he struggles cuz right now it looks like hes going to continue to be a beast era wise. |

That's a nice fucking roster you have there. SheAAA is actually having a descent year but he's not going to give you anything as far as BB and HR are concerned.
I have Casey also and although he's not going to carry a 350+ BA all season, he'll hit well over .300 all year. Rather than going for Rolen, I'd go for Blalock. Unless the guy who has Blalock also has a great 3B you might be able to trade Casey for him. I have Blalock and he's been nails. |
