I couldn't find a thread on this year's series. So I will get it started.

USC is crushing LSU right now, 13-4, in bottom of 8th.

Final score 15-4 USC.

Next up, loser of Cal State and Miami.

good to see LSU going home early for a change.
Sure seems like the CWS is late this year

USC takes down Miami tonight. After going up 12-0, they "hold on" to win it 15-11. Cal State Fullerton back up tomorrow.

South Carolina has to beat Fullerton twice though. Fullerton has been the surprise of the tournament.

Arizona was a pretty big suprise this tourny also. i was suprised that they made it as far as they did.

USC 5-3 yesterday! Game two tonight at 7:00 p.m. Winner faces Texas.

Hmmm... Haven't seen anybody really paying attention to Texas. Quite frankly, they are the best team in the tournament, I mean they took the number one draft choice out of Vandy and lit him up like a Christmas Tree. They are hitting well right now, no team has been able to figure out Chris Thigpen, and they are just rolling. Not to mention that they still have Houston "The Sure Thing" Street still in the wings. Anyways, Texas is my favorite to win the CWS this year (as if you guys couldn't tell already). Should be some good matchups out of all this too.

Well, CSF took out my Cocks tonight. Damn, we lead the country in home runs. We hadn't been shut out all year. Then, CSF pitching shuts us out twice. No one team had shut out another team twice in CWS since 1957.

I know Texas is the huge favorite, but they need to look out for those pitchers.

Well, CSF was for real. After beating my Cocks, they took out TX in two straight games. Congrats CSF! See you next year!

Indeed, CSF deserved that win and Texas didn't, it's just that simple, congrats to a very good and deserving team. Can't wait til next year, should be good.

yeah, the Longhorns definitely showed poor sportsmanship by dissing the post-tournament ceremony. their coach, Augie Garrido, has been rightfully catching hell over it, too.

Argh, I hate it when stupid shit like this happens because it always puts a stain on us Longhorn fans who aren't completely insane and think that Texas can and should win every time. Granted I thought they could have won the CWS, but I wasn't making any guarantees like some Longhorn fans are wont to do, especially when it comes time for the OU/UT matchup in November. I have had experiences of wearing my Longhorn cap with pride and have had people come up to me and call me scum, whiner, arrogant jerk, etc. etc. Now I just casually smile and I go about my way, because, even though I am proud of my team, it's just sports, and in the grander scheme of things, it doesn't matter. Augie, I'm ashamed that you simply said that you thought it would be mailed, you've been in this thing for how long now? You know damn well that you're supposed to go on the field, swallow your pride and take the second place trophy if you lose. My rant is now done, sorry for the waste of time that it has been, please go about your day.
