Favourite Soccer team
Not much talk about the world's most popular sport in this forum. I am just interested to see what are people's favourite soccer team from around the globe.
I'll start with mine - a local team, even though they are only second division in the English league. Brentford. |

All I know about soccer I learned from Fifa 2004...
So my favorite team is Manchester United... simply for the reason it's the first team I picked, becasue it was one of the only ones I knew when i rented the game... and I am undefeated playing with them. I know it's a bit superficial... but what can I say... I don't get much exposure way out here in western canada

Liverpool. "You will never walk alone". When I first got into soccer they won one of the big tropheys ( I was like 6 at the time) so I thought cool I will go for them. Then as I grew older and leanrt more about the world I like what they stood for. Liverpool is a poor part of england and yet their representative football team is consistently at the top of the english premier league. They are the working mans heros. I like that

I'll only watch and follow the US National team. Not sure why I can't get into the MLS or EPL since I do like watching soccer. I guess I just don't know enough about the teams or players to care much about the outcome of the game. I can put most any baseball, basketball, or football game on and watch it becuase I almost care about the outcome (especially how it effects a team I really care about).

And for the record, I hope your comment about Liverpool being a poor part of England is based on the fact that you live somewhere other than England (am I right?) If that's the case I'll let it slide on this occassion. We used to be an extremely poor region, but that was years ago. Liverpool is doing very well for itself at the moment Anyway back to the football. With a managerial change, it looks like Liverpool have a very interesting season coming up. Watch this space.

In Canada (atleast western) soccer is not big atall. I have to say that the only full 90 minute soccer game I have watched was under 19 womens semifinal Canada vs Brazil where Canada won in a shootout. And the Gold medal game (in Edmonton) where Canada lost to the USA in OT. I have actually watched afew more games this year too. Only beacuse they are Canadian, and actually a competitive soccer team. So I guess I will say the Canadian under 19 womens team.

Has to be the mighty Chester City promoted as Champions to the football league this season. That being four-years after dropping out of the league due an American called Terry Smith who on buying the club appointed himself manager and made us a laughing stock in the proccess. Still back where we belong now.

Ah, yes. Liverpool supporters will "Never Walk alone", because there are always going to be seven or eight other sides and all their supporters struggling through mid-table mediocrity for all eternity. (ha. ha?)
Also, do you know what happened when my father was 8 years old? Tottenham won the league! Don't get me started on Man Ushited, because then I'll really get to talkin' some smack. Seriously. Hate the bastards. For those of you who haven't guessed yet, I'll give another big hint who I support: 2003/04: P38 W26 D12 L0 26th May 89: "It's up for grabs NOOOOOOO....! Thomas!!!"

Grudgingly Arsenal. When Vialli took over Chelsea i stopped liking them, so i had to choose another. Im not a gunner in my soul, but really like to watch Kanu (who i think they are dumping) and Henry.

And yes, I go, and used to have a season ticket before the ground rebuild last season. This thread makes me sad!
