Who do you take?


Dwight Howard who has a ton of potential, but H.S. picks run the gamut from Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett to Kwame Brown and (even worse) Lenny Cook


Or Omeka Okafor, who could probably step in sooner, but has had back problems.....


I like Okafor.....but if you're the Magic-----who do you take?

Depends on their view.

If they are willing to wait a couple years on an investment, you take Howard.

If they are looking for help immediately or sooner, you go with Okafor.

If they want a guy who with a higher celing the Emeka, yet don't want to wait as long or have the higher risk/reward ratio Howard would bring, they could even take Deng. That would be a shocker though.

I'd trade the pick and try to swing a deal for some proven veterans. This years choices don't make my toes tingle.

I think the Magic are so incredibly screwed, no matter who they take, they'll still need next year's draft.

Trade might be nice.

Trade the pick to Washington for the #5 pick and next year's first rounder. Wizards get Okafor, and the Magic get a good pick and a first-rounder next year.

The magic pick really has a lot to do with McGrady. If he says he will stick around, they'll pick Okafor, or should. If he says he isn't sticking around, they'll probably trade the pick, or draft Howard and start rebuilding. If McGrady doesn't say what he's gonna do... /laugh at orlando.

I know Okafor is a good player and stuff, but is he really that good?

Yes he's probably the best player in this draft, but if you ask me, he's not going to be able to dominate immediately.

One thing that does go for him is that if he is drafted by the Magic, he's in the East and he should be able to do more.

However, how many 6-9 PFs are that successful in the NBA? The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Big Ben Wallace and AK47 even though AK47 is more of a SF. Another concern is his health.

Okafor is the best player in this draft, but if they could trade the #1 pick for a proven player, i would do it.

I'd take Dwight Howard. Personally I think Orlando will take Okafor, due to his defense. What a thin draft!

I like the idea of trading the pick, if ... a big if...they keep McGrady. I agree there is not much at the top of this draft.

There's a litle known middle schooler who's supposed to be too good to pass up...

If theres honestly a kid from middle school, even if he's huge, that's laughable. He plain out doesn't have the experience, and would fail miserably. Can you imagine a 16 year old trying to go up against a veteran 7 footer, or try and lead a team with players who have been in the game longer than he's been alive?
