Jason Williams...
aquitted of aggravated man slaughter
aquitted of 2nd degree man slaughter no verdict on wreckless man slaughter guilty of 4 counts - 2 of which are evidence tampering & witness tampering... maximum is 13 years... he'll get nada edit... guilty of fabricating evidence |
Wow.. I was expecting him to be guilty. Iiiinteresting.
|
He'll probably get hit with some sort of fine that'll be pocket change to him and retire back to his palacial house.
|
It just shows what you can get away with when you are a high profile person with lots of money to hire the best lawyers. If one of us did it, the trial would already be over and we'd be spending the rest of our lives in prison.

Yeah...lord knows that he couldn't have been INNOCENT of the charges.
I've heard he'll probably get probation. I'd prefer a little more punishment for guilty on four counts, but we'll see. |
wtf!
losing my faith, day by day |
it's likely that they will re-try him on the wreckless manslaughter charge. in which case, I think he'll be convicted and wind up doing time in prison.
|
I agree with bond007, the wreckless manslaughter charge is what will get re-tried. It is highly unlikely that once the evidence of this alone is heard by the jury, that it will not end up in a guilty verdict. He will do some time, but it will probably be mimimal with all sentences being served concurrently. Hey, like it or not, he doesn't have any other occurrences on his record.
Have money, get good lawyers, and get off easy. That's the way our judicial system works. It's not that you are buying a not guilty, you are buying the best defense that can get through all of the legal loopholes the most effective way. |
I hadn't heard the news yet, and despite the way in which our legal system works in such matters, I must say that this shocks me. I thought he would get some jail time. I did not think he would be acquitted.
Hmm. |
The verdict seems mostly appropriate to me. I would vote for wreckless manslaughter given the evidence. In all the evidence I read about the death was unintentional but I believe Williams was negligent in how he handled fire arms. He is a real bastard of a person according to a fair bit of testimony but I don't believe he intended to kill the driver.
|
that guy is a waste of flesh. I hope he gets raped over and over in prison.
|
Glad to hear from someone who knows him...
|
Ever hear the story about how he shot his dog? It's a fine example of an upstanding citizen.
|
when someone loses their life because of your own actions, you should be held accountable. I don't think williams is get the punishment he deserves, maybe it was an accident but someone is dead and it was by his wreckless hands. Fame should be a get out of jail card.
|
How many guns does he have to discharge in public or at somebody on "accident" before people clue in...? Do YOU want to be his neighbor.

Say you kill someone in an accident and the accident was your fault. Is it really right that you should do prison time for it? |
There's another talented and gifted athlete who was given a gift from God but who, due to self-indulgence, laziness, and total disregard threw it all away. What a sad story that is told over and over and over again. He's a real headcase. If he does get off scott free he's such a bonehead he'll end up doing something else to get himself into big trouble. I just hope no one dies this time. What a joke he is.

He got drunk and was reckless with a loaded shotgun and an innocent man died.
Not guilty. If he got drunk and was reckless with a 2004 Escalade and an innocent man died...would he have been able to get off so easily?? |
Guns don't kill people... bullets kill people.
