After last night - taking a no-hitter into the 7th and being up 5-0 in the 8th then losing 5-6 in the 12th:

The Cubs for years without a championship. They may not win it in my lifetime.

Yeah, go ahead and rub it in, gucci. You and I already know what's coming.

That said, I see a couple of "unbreakables" above that have already been broken in the last 6 years.

Where's the faith?? I never thought I'd see Boston win it either and then look what happened? They started winning.

goddamn that was hard keeping a straight face!

Babe Ruth's Pitching AND Hitting stats. NO ONE will ever even come close.

A career 2.28 ERA, 1.159 WHIP, .671 winning %, (2) 20 season wins, 17 shutouts, 107 CG. AND 3 WS wins, a 0.87 ERA, 0.935 WHIP in 2 WS trips with the Bosox. That was all in just a matter of 10 years (2 of which were 1 game starts for the NYY) Basically he was only a full time pitcher for 3 maybe 4 years, before he became an everyday starter.

There will NEVER be a more dominant player in any sport.

Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup wins.

At 24 that's 11 ahead of the Leafs and 13 ahead of my Red Wings. Teams these days are lucky to string together back-to-back wins. If anyone catches Montreal it wont be in my life time.

Rocky Marciano... not sure someone will ever win the greatest title in sport, and retire undefeated again.

MLB single season record for triples at 36, and the career record at 309. Both are insane compared to what guys are getting today. The active leader today is Damon, who has 94 triples (not even 1/3 the way there) and he's 35 years old. No one under 27 has more than high 80s.

I affectionately referred to this as the Lions "going defeated", considering most teams that do the opposite go UNdefeated. Funny to think about!

(EDIT: Unless you're from Detroit! HA)

Worth bringing up again!

technically it can happen.. julius cezar chavez went some crazy number undefeated (75 or something in that range) before old age caught up with him. granted he is not heavyweight, but its quite possible.
