AVs streak is over
 

Kudos to the Canucks for ending the AVS division title streak at 9, which was one of the longest streaks in professional sports. Guess they got to start a new one next year...

Now the only banner that can be possibly added to the Pepsi Center rafters this year is the Cup champion (and the AVS always seem to win it the year after the Devils do)..

It was a good run, but hopefully it marks the beginning of a downward spiral for the Avs....

It's a shame that Colorado isn't doing better with all the talent they have. They were 2-5-1 in their last 8 games. Nothing like going into the playoffs ice cold.

It really doesn't matter about how hot or how cold your team is doing right before playoff time. The thing that matters is the Wings. Manny is hot in goal. Stevie is 100%. Cast of H-O-Fer's. This will make it 4 cups in 7 years. So, I say I'm sorry because no matter what you do, all playoffs bound teams are going to eventually be knocked down with the Wings emerging at the top!!!

It saddens me greatly that the Ave's streak is over... but I guess all good things must come to an end... sooner or later... It's time for the Aves to show us what they're really made of during the playoffs and WIN that cup!

Detroit will definitely make it past the first round, but not sure if they'll go any further...

last year was a complete fluke with the Wings getting beat in the first round. Look at our past playof records for the last 15 years. No one is better. This year will be ours again. By the way, wouldn't an Av's vs. Wings conference final match up be great. I mean I do hate the Av's, but we have the greatest games and the best rivalry. We need to see another goalie fight!!!!!

I would love the Wings/AVS matchup for the conference finals so you just got to pray for the Sharks or Nucks to lose in the first round.

I personally would like to the AVS to have to play the Stars/Nucks/Wings to make it to the CUP round verse the Lightning/Devils. I feel if you deserve the Cup, then you have to play your toughest opponents to get there. (I am not saying the other teams in the playoffs are not tough, its just that the Wings/Stars and now the Nucks have the rivalry aspect as well)

I can also tell you that there would be no worse fate then having the Nucks knock the AVS out of the playoffs...

The only way I want to see the Av's outstead is by either
A: Confernce Final against Wings
or
B: First round sweep

It would be even better to see a Av's vs Canucks match up. I think this could work if the av's and canucks won, and if st. louis beat san jose.

Got to say, the AVS are looking real good so far in the playoffs. Maybe not winning the division did wake up all that talent...
